When we were younger,
You used to hold my hands.
Walk me to and from school,
And your grip never loosened.
When we were younger,
You would always look at me,
And you would never look away.
I was the center of your world.
When we were younger,
I would hold you in my arms,
And I would never let you go.
Even if you laughed at me to let go.
When we were younger,
You always had a bandage with you,
And there you were every time I bled.
You healed all my ugly scars.
But now we are no longer young,
And now your grip has turned weak.
Now more than ever i just wish,
Wish that i had held on tighter.
Now we're no longer young,
And when you closed your eyes,
My whole world seemed to crash down,
While your world faded to dust.
We are no longer young,
And i hold you in my arms,
As your breathing comes short,
And i wish that i had never let go.
No longer that young,
And i'm bleeding without your bandages.
And your body goes still,
And i wish i just had more time with you.
I wish that we were still young.
