After a whole night of searching for her brunette best friend, it was safe to say that Elenor was thoroughly worried. Katherine's words had stuck in her head. She had thought that the best course of action was to hide what had become of Belladonna, for her safety. She knew that there was something about her, something different, the moment she heard about the Gilbert girl who had come back to life after being submerged for 20 minutes. It wasn't just a miracle, it was impossible, and the blonde Salvatore had to see it for herself.

What she had found was a shell of a girl who wished she hadn't survived that accident and she found herself drawn to her. Not because she was beautifully broken, but because of who she was. Elenor had been told by her father once that she was ignorantly compassionate and she had resented it because she didn't understand it. Meeting Belladonna, she suddenly did. Bella showed compassion to the very sister that constantly casts her to the side and it had made Elenor hate the dopplegänger as a result.

Now, as she searches for the middle Gilbert, she begins to wonder if Elena had figured out that Belladonna had some sort of power. She had heard the eldest child talk about Bella's ability to convince people of things, it had been the thing that made Ellie think she had turned into a vampire after the accident. But this was something different, that much she was sure of. She had seen her use it of Katherine at the Inn. It was as if a faint reddish-orange glow had emanated from one vampire to the other and then Kat had spoken the truth, clearly against her will.

Elenor wasn't sure of much but she did know that Belladonna was ignorant to whatever special powers she had and that Elena and her boyfriends were vindictive enough to kill her for them. This is how she finds herself storming into Alaric's history classroom after an unsuccessful morning spent searching for her friend, having tracked her brothers there. However, when she arrives, she's shocked to learn that Elena is missing as well. "What do you mean she's missing?" The blonde demands, drawing the occupants' attention.

"Since when do you care about Elena?" Her older brother demands. "Wasn't it just yesterday that you expressed your desire for her death?"

"That was before Katherine issued a warning about both Elena and Belladonna and now they're both missing!" She snaps and Jeremy looks at the blonde in worry.

"Bella's missing too?"

"I've been looking for her since last night. Wherever she is, it's not in Mystic Falls."

"Well luckily, we have a plan," Damon expresses and Elenor sighs, getting the feeling she's not going to like this in the slightest.

In a small, beaten-down house about 55 miles from the small town of Mystic Falls, Elena sits on a couch observing her sister who is still passed out. She was confused as to why Bella would throw herself in front of her and knew that it was her fault the two of them had been kidnapped. Rose and Trevor, she had learned these were the names of the vampires who had taken them, had made it clear they didn't have a use for Bella. Trevor had tried to go after her, likely to drain her dry despite the dopplegängers pleas, but he was stopped by a row of vervain that had sprouted.

It had drawn the confusion of the three that were awake. Rose and Trevor knew the vervain hadn't been there before they set her down and it began to die down while away, but sprout anew if they came close to the dopplegänger or her sister. Deep down, Elena also knew this was coming from her sister, but she couldn't believe it. Bella didn't have magic, she was human, just like her. Perhaps it was something that Ellie had done, an effort to protect her after Katherine had come to town. Yes, that must be it.

Once she manages to rationalize it, she stands up, deciding to try to extract whatever information she could from Rose. Sure, it may not be smart to leave the safety of the vervain circle but you know what they say, curiosity killed the cat and satisfaction brought it back. She's already out of the room by the time the blue-eyed Gilbert stirs so she doesn't notice as the darkness in the room begins to draw towards her.
