Belladonna was walking through the woods to once again meet Hermes and Hecate with Kol following after her. Hecate claimed that she wanted Bella to fully understand her powers. All her powers and she believed that once she had control of her plant magic, she would be better at controlling her other magic. "Why are we walking through the woods again?"
"I am walking through the woods because I'm meeting my friends. You just followed me. Feel free to turn back at any time."
"Aww, you're hurting my feelings, Darling. I might start thinking that you don't want me here with you." The teen shrugs giving him her honest opinion.
"I don't mind your presence one way or another. You tend to bring about comedic relief, something we are in desperate need of as of late." It had been a week since Finn had died. Damon had coughed up his stake but Ric couldn't remember where his was hidden. Then, Damon and Elena took a little trip with Jeremy to ask Rose who turned her but Kol and Ellie killed her sire first. Not that it mattered, Bella had already told them who their sire was, they just never listen to her.
Eventually, Stefan had beat Alaric's evil persona to the front and he had given Rebekah the stake. What nobody knew was that the witch manipulating Ric from the Other Side was Esther and she had coached him into making a fake White Oak stake to fool them as well as given him instructions to allow her to make him a supernatural hunter. Now, everyone was trying to go back to normal but it was hard. Rebekah was throwing herself into planning the decade dance and Tyler was back so Caroline had asked Belladonna to keep Klaus distracted.
The blonde had explained that she and Bonnie had no part in Elena and the Salvatores' plans and hadn't talked to them since, being angry about that and Damon turning Bonnie's mother. Knowing Caroline was telling the truth, she agreed to keep Klaus distracted but had been forced to enlist Ellie's help while she traipsed through the woods. The only remotely interesting thing to happen was a few days prior when Bella had gone into her room to find a gift from Kat and Ellie on the bed with a card saying To help with your...issue. She had opened it to find a vibrator.
It had been the first time she had laughed since Finn's death and her brighter mood had greatly improved the moods of her housemates. Hence Kol's current traipse through the woods. "You know, I think you're the only one who's unbothered by my presence."
"That's so not true. Your siblings love you."
"They love each other. I'm just the forgotten brother. The one who never knows when to stop." She pauses and turns to him.
"You make it sound like you're a ripper."
"I used to be," he responds honestly. "I didn't want to stop, so I wouldn't. It didn't matter how high the body count went, I just kept at it." She frowns and at first he thinks this is it, the moment she realizes that he's past saving, but she just tilts her head as if in thought.
"I guess that makes sense. Stefan became a ripper because he killed his father to transition but the moment you fed, you lost your magic. You would've been able to feel it like a phantom limb, the way Klaus felt his werewolf side. You wanted someone to pay so you took it out on the people who weren't monsters like you." She nods her head, satisfied with her explanation, and begins moving once more. Kol looks at the spot she had abandoned in shock before following her.
"You are surprisingly astute. Has anyone ever told you that?"
"They may have mentioned it once or twice. I have another question. If the rest of your siblings have also committed grievous acts in the past, why do you think that they judge you for it?"
"I was always left apart from my siblings. Rebekah adored the very ground Niklaus walked on, she would often care for him after our father's abuse. Elijah always wanted to protect Nik but he was too afraid so he'd wait until father would go on hunts to try and teach him to be a warrior. I admired the way Nik never fully gave into Mikael. He'd admit to a lie and swear not to do something but then he'd be right back at it. It didn't matter to them, however, because Nik adored them for being there for him and there was just never room for me."
