3rd Person P.O.V.
Damon's talk with Ellie and Bella was slightly stalled by a few weeks. The first instance was when Damon got himself and Ellie tortured by the werewolves who wanted the moonstone. Bella had felt something wrong with her best friend and notified Elijah who was all too happy to help her rescue them.
He was shocked to see her anger manifest in such a powerful display once she not only called vines forth to prevent Jules' exit but also to make wolfsbane grow from her skin. After that, Bella had learned that she did, in fact, have a sadistic side, locking Jules in the tomb where she had managed to grow a constant steady stream of wolfsbane to torture her for hurting Ellie. Ensuring that every breath she took only caused more pain.
Then came the dagger from John Gilbert. Bella recognized it from her family's journals and made Ellie aware of its effects when used by a vampire. Realizing that Damon planned to take away their source of protection, she had warned him not to use it, claiming that Klaus wanted her and Bella along with Elena and Elijah had promised them protection. Damon had almost decided against his plan and then Bonnie informed him that she had her magic stolen after using Luca to discover that Elijah planned to sacrifice Elena.
Tension had then built once Damon realized that Ellie knew what using the dagger would do to him as well as Ellie's anger that he had chosen Elena over her, just like how he had chosen Katherine over her in 1864, a choice that had led to not only his murder but hers as well. This brings them to today where they had made plans to compare notes despite their shared disdain. However, Isobel decided to make a surprise appearance, throwing Elena and Ric under the bus in front of Jenna, who had decided to head to Whittmore for a few days.
Yet the vampire wanted to converse with her daughter and baby daddy so Ellie, Damon, Bonnie, who had magic once more, Ric, and Bella were all sitting in the Salvatore sitting room watching Elenor and Damon plot each other's deaths inside their minds. "Can this get any more awkward?" Bella finally mutters, unable to stand the tension a moment longer.
"Oh, it can definitely get worse. You should've seen them in 1864. When Ellie found out that Damon wanted to get turned into a vampire, she threatened to kill him to save him from his own stupidity," Katherine jokes, entering the room and taking a seat next to her newest friend.
"Really?" The brunette questions the blonde.
"Clearly I should've done it too." As Bella snickers at her joke, Damon focuses a glare on Katherine.
"What the hell are you doing here?" He growls.
"Relax, Damon, I'm here to help. I bargained with Elijah for Ellie's safety but now that he's gone, I guess I'll need to ensure it myself. Besides, we want the same thing: Klaus dead. Now, I may not care for Elena but that doesn't mean I won't help you stop Klaus from sacrificing her in this sun and moon ritual." The mention of the ritual draws the young vampire's attention as she frowns.
"Speaking of this ritual, does its so-called origins sound a little...off to anyone else?"
"What do you mean?" Ellie asks her friend who opens her mouth to reply only to be cut off by the eldest Salvatore.
"Who cares? It involved Elena dying and Klaus wants to do it. What does it matter if it wasn't placed by some stupid Aztec shaman?" Bella wants to argue but Elena and Stefan finally arrive so they delve into their explanation instead. Starting with her turning into a vampire.
As Katherine listens to them recount Belladonna's recent adventures, she can't help but feel the guilt eating away at her. When she had made the deal with the teen and Ellie, she had intended to keep it. One thing she knew for sure about Elijah was that he was a man of his word. It was what had made her fall for him. Maybe, if she hadn't been so sure that she need Klaus to love her to survive, things could've been different. She didn't mind being a vampire and she could've used Elijah's blood to turn so Klaus got his sacrifice and they got eternity.
