I was wrong. Or maybe dramatic is a better word. I wasn't alone and I probably never would be again, I just felt alone. After I found Klaus in bed with Hayley, Matthew had been quick to take my side, going as far as to play loud music outside of my house from an actual boombox to get me to invite him in. Sadly, I hadn't done so fast enough and his ridiculous actions had garnered the attention of Hermes and Hecate who were still shacked up two houses away. Then I had gotten the pleasure of explaining what happened to them.

Hecate had encouraged me to go to the Underworld but Hermes and Matthew had vetoed her, agreeing with me that I needed to make Klaus think he hadn't affected me. Once Caroline had arrived to join the fray after learning what happened, she had caught me up on the doppelgang's current events since Ellie still wasn't taking my calls.

Apparently, Elena had threatened Liz after I threatened her and then tried to kill Caroline, who was officially done with the doppelgänger. So Damon took her to New York where she ditched him for Rebekah, stealing his car along the way. According to Damon, the vampire Katherine sent after Hayley was an old friend of his that made fake IDs for vampires. Given that he had died of a werewolf bite, Damon had gone to his old haunt and gathered all the info he had on Katherine.

This was all stolen by Elena and Rebekah who had teamed up because Elena didn't want the cure and was willing to ensure Rebekah got it just so she wouldn't. It was funny to me how the tables had turned. I had once wanted the cure destroyed so no one could force me to take it and now Elena was essentially in the same boat. That's what made me realize why Katherine had gone after the cure. I wasn't the only one worried about being cured of vampirism and if Katherine gave Klaus the cure, she could barter for her permanent freedom. Funny, considering that it was her act of stealing the cure that lost it for her.

While the new power duo was galavanting around looking for Katherine, Caroline had been forced to complete Silas' sacrifices to save Bonnie and Klaus had called her a terrible person for it. I told her that he was a whiner and a dick so she shouldn't care what he thought. A few days after that happened, Bonnie had shown up apologizing about what happened with Jeremy and for going after Kol. She told me that she shouldn't have let Shane get into her head and if she had been in her right mind, she would've had my back.

Considering my low quota of friends, I was willing to forgive her, especially as my hatred for all those who claimed to care most for me grew. Stefan had called to inform Caroline yesterday as she was making plans with Bonnie and me to go Prom dress shopping that Elena had impersonated Kat to talk with Elijah who figured out because he wasn't stupid and was dating Katherine. But then, sweet, innocent Elena had thrown a wrench in their relationship by telling Elijah that Katherine had killed Jeremy and forgot to mention it.

Katherine, in a desperate ploy to prove her love to Elijah, had given him the cure even after he broke up with her, but he still abandoned her, heading back to Mystic Falls with Rebekah. This leads us to now, where Care, Bonnie, and I are trying on our Prom dresses for the dance that is taking place that night. I try my best to put on a happy face but the truth is, no matter what I do, my mind is still stuck on Klaus, Katherine, Kol, and Ellie. Their betrayals seem to cut deeper as the days pass and one day, I don't think I'll be able to take it anymore.

I hate them but more than anything I hate how everywhere I go in this shitty town reminds me of them. Prom is Caroline's last-ditch effort to get me to stay. She's trying to remind me of all the good times I had here, but the truth is, without the people I made the good memories with, this place is just full of bad times. Still, I stay optimistic for her sake, or at least I try to as Rebekah and Elena walk into the boutique. Elena and Rebekah exchange witty banter with Care before Elena compliments her dress and Caroline snaps before deciding we can leave.
