Things were hard for Bella the next morning. She understood why Caroline had done what she did but that didn't make it hurt any less. It just added Caroline to the list of people Bella just wasn't enough for. But that was fine because at least she would always have Ellie and Kat. That would be enough. Besides, Caroline was still her friend and she would rather feel the pain of knowing that they weren't together anymore every day than not have the blonde in her life so she shakes it off and gets ready for the day.
After throwing on some jeans and a sweater, she pops in some earbuds and heads to the kitchen to make some pancakes. Pancakes always make her feel better. As she gathers the ingredients, she nods along to the song when idfc by blackbear comes on and she begins to sing without realizing it. It isn't until she's singing along to the small bridge as she turns with the pan to place the not very round pancakes on a plate that she sees the three people that had gathered in the kitchen, stopping the words in her throat.
She pauses the song and takes her headphone out. "Sorry, was I bothering you?" She asks sheepishly.
"Umm, since when can you sing like that?" Ellie demands while Kol frowns.
"What does giving head mean?" This stops both women in their tracks as they turn to the youngest Mikaelson male.
"You don't know what getting head is?" Bella finally interrogates and the vampire shrugs.
"I was in a box for most of my life." She nods before glancing at Klaus, who is still staring at her with something she can't quite place.
"Ask your brother."
"I don't know what it is either, if I'm being honest," he speaks and the two women give him a look only to realize he's serious. "I don't exactly keep up with modern slang."
"Great, that means one of you gets the pleasure," Kol tells them and the two friends share a grin.
"Oh no," Ellie answers and Bella quickly joins.
"If you don't know what it means, then we're not telling you because it's so much more fun if you don't know." They smirk at him and he narrows his eyes before stomping off, making Ellie follow to terrorize him more. Bella shakes her head and moves to clean up her mess, forgetting that Klaus was there until he speaks.
"You have a beautiful voice, Love."
"Thanks," she responds, not sure what else to say. She didn't want things to be awkward but what she said to Caroline the prior afternoon had been true. She may have forgiven Klaus but she would never be able to forget. She might move past it, but she's not sure what that will mean for their relationship. Clearing her throat, she attempts to change the conversation. "You know that those two are sleeping together, right?"
Klaus startles at the news because the truth was, he hadn't. He never much cared about Kol's exploits, he was more than capable of handling himself and he was nowhere near as close to Klaus as Rebekah or Elijah so he never cared to kill off one of Kol's lovers. Not to mention, Kol typically followed in Klaus' footsteps and killed them himself. "No, I wasn't aware." Bella hums and Klaus narrows his eyes.
He wants to bring up what he had heard yesterday but he isn't sure what that will do. The idea of upsetting her by bringing up her breakup pains him, as does the fact that he had hurt her so badly by leaving her, so instead, he clears his throat and decides to do something he had never been particularly good at. Apologize. "Listen, Belladonna. I wanted to apologize."
"For what?" She asks, digging into her pancakes.
"For leaving."
"You already did that," she points out, not really wanting to get into this, but he's determined.
