Bella's Dress
3rd Person P.O.V.
The day of homecoming, Elena, Stefan, and Damon put their plan in place. They convinced Rebekah, using the knowledge that Klaus had killed her mother that they got from the cave, to tell Klaus that Mikael was dead. They had Elena dagger him to get around Stefan's compulsion and they had made a plan. Elena would dagger Rebekah before the dance, then Katherine would take Elena's place so if Mikael tried to use her as bait she would be safe. Next, Mikael would give Damon the stake, and Mikael will take Bella as bait to distract Klaus.
Everything would've gone great if Elena hadn't told Mikael to use Bella. She had claimed that Klaus clearly cared about her based on his behavior in the gym towards her. Rebekah, who had begun to warm up to the other Gilbert girl was unable to deny the doppelgänger's words. It had been the thing to upset her in the gym that night. No matter how Bella and Ellie acted, Klaus hadn't done anything to them and it wasn't out of fear, it was because he was too busy sending moon-eyes at Belladonna.
Immediately after agreeing to the plan, Katherine had sped over to the Gilbert house to tell Bella that she was going to be bait. The blue-eyed girl can't help but worry her lip between her teeth. "Maybe I shouldn't go," she states. "I can't believe that Elena would use me as bait. I know that I hit her, but she deserved that."
"She's always been vindictive, it's not really a shock," Ellie grumbles before shooting her best friend a look. "Besides, you won Homecoming Queen last night. You have to be at the dance." The brunette groans. It was true, she had been awarded Homecoming queen. She thought the whole thing was shady at first, as if she were going to get Carrie'ed and have pig's blood dumped on her, but everyone had cheered. Apparently, people did like her. Weird.
"Fine, then we stick to the original plan. If it comes down to it, I'll just choke Mikael out and Klaus stabs him. We'll both make it out of this. Okay?"
"Okay." The other two women agree before leaving. The minute they're away from the house, they turn to each other.
"We can't let her do this," Ellie states and Katherine sighs, putting a hand on her shoulder.
"We have to, El. If we stop this, they'll just do it some other time. We'll just change the plan a bit. I'll fix this, I promise." The blonde reluctantly nods and leaves, hoping that her best friend will be okay.

An hour before the dance, Bella was finishing up getting ready, about to place her crown and sash on, when she noticed Jeremy lying in his room and staring at the ceiling. He had been doing this a lot since the ghosts came back. Apparently, when everyone could see and feel them, Elena caught Jeremy kissing Ana and told Care who told Bonnie. She had rightfully broken up with him, but they're both more than a little torn, so the brunette decides to do something.
"Okay, enough with the wallowing."
"What are you talking about?" Jeremy asks, shooting his sister a look.
"I'm talking about you, Dorko. So you kissed Ana and hurt Bonnie. It sucks and both of you ended up ruined by it, but you can't make it better by staring blankly at the ceiling, Jer. Bonnie won't know that you're genuinely sorry until you show it."
"And how am I supposed to do that?"
"A grand gesture like showing up to Homecoming and sweeping her off her feet. Then explain why you did what you did. You never really got a chance with Ana because you thought Vicki was alive and then when you realized she wasn't and really started to admit your feelings for Ana, John killed her. Bonnie will understand, Jeremy. It will hurt for a while but she'll understand that you're just a kid who made a mistake because he's had to face way too much tragedy."
