Adrien's birthday has arrived. He wears his new suit. He notices his father and Natalie are well dressed too.
"Father, why is everyone dressed up?"
Are we going somewhere?"
"Not exactly, son."
He stands there and shrugs his shoulders.
He cannot figure out the need to dress this way.
It is his birthday, but so what?
What does that have to do with the nice suits and Natalie's dress?
Plagg joins them along with Tikki. He sees another person enter the room and smirks.
"Plagg, what you gleaming about now?"
Plagg laughs.
"Hi, lawyer boy."
Adrien turns around and sees her. He feels his face flush.
"Marinette, the dress is lovely."
"Thanks, I made it."
"Oh, please do have a seat." Adrien pulls out a chair for her.
Marinette's POV:
She wishes she did not come. It was probably a bad idea.
She takes the seat Adrien offers her.
"I hope the cast gets off soon."
She sees Adrien's face fall.
Marinette gently places a hand on his face.
"Happy Birthday, Adrien." She whispers.
She almost forgets anyone else is there.
She kisses his cheek.
She pulls away when she tears in his eyes.
"Adrien, you need not worry. I will still be working for your father once my knee heals."
"I know, but all you will truly see yourself as is his employee."
Marinette sees him shake his head. She wonders, why does he still doubt me?
"Lawyer boy, I was horrible in high school. I was rather savage back then."
"I should have accepted the umbrella."
"I think your suit goes well with your eyes."
Adrien blushes. He puts his hands over his face in sheer embarrassment. Why did she have to compliment his eyes?
He thinks, if it were possible, he could die from the awkwardness.
Marinette does not understand. What's been with him lately?
Plagg, Tikki, Natalie, and Gabriel did not say a word.
Narrator's POV:
"Adrien tries to deny his feelings for her."
"Ah, when is he going to take the hint she is not upset with him anymore? Is he serious?"
The narrator takes her frustrations out on paper.
Adrien Agreste you are #$%#%#%#% and a ##$%^&*!
