Day or Night, London isn't safe in the eyes of its residents. Ever since the incident of the palace and the rumors about shapeshifters- it had made the capital at an unease. Yet, the citizen's comfort weren't [Name]'s priority.
In the dark suburbs near the port of London Harbour, a carriage halts. Exiting from the ride was the current head of the Phantomhives. A few beggars and drunkards at the corners watched seeing the Countess arrive at such a gloomy area.
"It seems that in these parts, not only would illegal smuggling of goods and trafficking occurs- but apparently even productions of certain drugs" [Name] muttered in a low voice as she studied the area, "Sebastian... I presume you've brought the samples "
"Of course my lady," Her butler responded as he pulled out a few papers, documents and a certain item sealed in a bag from his coat and handed over to [Name]. "What kind of butler would I be if I were to loose such important files?"
[Name] rolled her eyes ignoring his statement. Whatever she replies may just feed his ego further.
She then proceeds to walk towards a building a shabby old building, "Though Ho-chien's death may have caused disarray and order in the hierarchy here, to some it was good news."
Sebastian trailed behind her, listening to her words as they descended a flight of stairs that leaded into pits of darkness. "With the loss of our colleagues overseeing East End, I'm not surprised if the King has turned to us to find a solution."
"It is without a doubt that the newly coronated King trusts in your abilities my lady" Sebastian replied.
As they reached the end of what felt like never ending stairs, they were met with a dark alleyway.
"I hear laughter not far from hear my lady" Sebastian spoke.
"Of course, I was right to guess that the tunnel system will be returning back to work ever since Ho-chi-" [Name] paused. Sebastian was certain the mistress croaked in her words. Before he could speak, she continued. "He died..."
[Name] tugged her coat and continued walking into the dark tunnel.
"My lady, I think it's unwise to walk careless-" Before Sebastian could finish his words, [Name] could feel something hair pass by her leg causing her to let out a screech.
The mistress jump back at whatever vermin pass by her leg, causing her to loose balance. Sebastian easily caught her from behind. "You should becareful my lady" he spoke in a low voice, "How about I carry you-"
"Let go of me" [Name] scoffed as she released herself from his hold. "Rather than finding opportunities to satisfy your perverse desires, pull out a lamp or torch will you?"
"Of course my lady."
With a lamp finally lit, the two continue their trek deeper into the dark tunnel. [Name] couldn't help but be disgusted at the sight of vermin and often puddles of who knows what body of water it came from. Her face wrinkled seeing rats pass by-
"My lady, why don't I carry you? After all, I wouldn't want your shoes to be soiled" Sebastian offered.
"Like I would let you" [Name] responded as they continued on walking. "I'm not a child anymore, Sebastian. Heck, like I care if I soil my boots- I'll just use you as doormat to wipe the grime off."
"Oh such a sharp tongue" He muttered raising a brow.
As they continue trekking, [Name] could hear faint laughter echoing from afar. "It seems we're getting close" she said as they further followed the noise, "To think we would have to venture into these tunnels again..."
