"(Y/n)!!!" Alice pounced at her upon her arrival at the manor. She engulfed (Y/n) in a bone crushing. Clearly she didn't know her own strength.

"Alice, I'm happy... to see you as well" (Y/n) croaked, feeling her air being squeezed out. "But- you are... slowly... Killing me...".

"Oops, I'm sorry (Y/n)!" She let go of her.

It was a smooth trip to the Midford's manor, despite (Y/n)'s constant worry that Gabrielle might attack or there might be other fiends out to get her. Nevertheless, she appreciated that for once  no moron had attempted to kill her on such a special day.

"Alice, where are the others?" (Y/n) asked.

"Dad and Grandma are still doing some work-related errands but don't worry, they are almost done. Mum on the other hand is busy in preparing for the ball" Alice said.

'I guess I won't be seeing her until later in the ball then' (Y/n) thought.

"Why don't I take you to your room and afterwards we can go to the training area where the Birthday girl currently is?" Alice suggested.

"I would be happy if you do so" (Y/n) responded with a smile. "Takeyo, carry my bags- and do becareful, they may be light but the contents are very much fragile" she said to him.

"Of course, Mistress" He responded politely.

Alice leaned over to (Y/n). She looked a bit confused as she whispered to her, "Isn't that your gardener? What happened to Sebastian? Don't tell me you sacked him?".

(Y/n) couldn't help but let out an amused chuckle. If only Alice knew how Sebastian was wary about her. "Let's just say, all of my servants are well rounded. No one is a one trick pony in my household" she said.

After Alice had led (Y/n) to her sleeping quarters, the girls headed to the training area where Emily was. (Y/n) listened intently to her little cousin's stories of her progress in her training so far.

"-I thought I didn't land any hit on the man, turns out I managed to cut his belt! Trust me when I say that was a wrong day for him to be wearing some worn out trousers-" Alice recounted to (Y/n) the time a crook had attempted to rob her.

Although it slightly worried her how Alice wound herself in such a dangerous situation, she couldn't help but be amused on how enthusiastic she was. Alice really had grown up, in fact- she could see him...

His excitement when he used to tell her his stories...
His enthusiasm for swordsplay...
His flare...
His smile...

"(Y/n), hello? (Y/n)?" Alice says at the sametime finger snaps as she pulled her out of her thoughts. "Ah good your still there" she said, "For a second there I thought you were in some kind of trance".

"S-so sorry about that" (Y/n) shrugged.

"Nevermind that, we're here!" Alice happily announces as they stood before the front hall of the training area. It was where the Knights would train.

Nostalgia washed over (Y/n) remembering the times she was here especially with-

"Wah! I give up already m'lady!" A grown man who looked beaten and burst out of the doors. Alice, (Y/n) and Takeyo move out of the way as the man runs away, frightened tears streaming down his face. His clothes were all in shreds as if he was being attacked by a pair of scissors. "I'm going back home to my mommy!!!" He cried out.

"What was that all about?" (Y/n) questioned trying to process what just happened.

"I don't know Mistress, but I am very much tempted to laugh-but I think it would be rude unless without your permission" Takeyo looked as dumbstruck as her.
