Austin, Texas
Jared tossed the last bag that he had into the back of the truck as Oliver walked around to him.
"You wanna say something Oliver." Jared looked back at him.
"Go talk to her man, I know you hate this running back and forth shit but she deserves an answer for why you are leaving."
Jared shook his head, "I hate how much you are right."
Oliver nodded his head as he got into the truck with the boys while Jared walked back up to the house.
Jared knocked on the door as Genevieve glanced back at him when Jared saw Danneel's head pop up from the couch, "Great... hey I wanted to talk to you alone."
Genevieve wiped her eyes with the back of her hand smearing makeup all over her face.
Jared wanted to clean her up but kept his hand back as she nodded toward her office. Jared followed her back there as Danneel sat in the living room glaring him down.
Genevieve shut the door behind them as Jared turned back to her. "Listen Jared, you made your choice. Why do you wanna put me through something else?"
"You think that I hate you or that I'm bashing you again but I'm not. I do not hate on you Genevieve. I don't hate you. I could never hate you. You are the mother of our sons. I will always love you for that. But it's our physical love that has just left us. I mean emotional I think our love has faded as well but we can't change that either."
Genevieve looked back at him.
"Our boys love you and they want you around but right now I don't think its right that we are doing this together. I mean look at us. We have to always look over our shoulder for something. I mean I can't do this right now."
"So when the threat goes away you think this could work?"
Jared looked down at her, "No, it won't work no matter where we are at in our lives since I don't have that connection to you anymore."
"Are you leaving me for someone else?"
Jared shook his head, "No, I'm leaving you because I can't stand in that kitchen and smile with you anymore. I am leaving you because I can't be in the same room with you without it being awkward. I can't be with you alone anymore and feeling relaxed. Genevieve, its pressure and that isn't a marriage that is something that shouldn't be."
Genevieve cleaned her face again.
Jared stepped up to her and helped cleaned her face up, "You are still someone special to me but Genevieve I can't anymore. I can't look at our boys and have them thinking that we are happy. We aren't happy and we haven't been happy since Shep was born."
Genevieve looked up at him.
"My heart doesn't belong here, it just isn't right that we are doing this to them. I don't feel right being here when I don't feel wanted here."
"So you wanna run up north to them?"
"I wanna go to where I am wanted. I wanna go to a place that I am loved. I wanna laugh and drink a beer for enjoyment again. I don't wanna drink to numb the pain that I have being here. Genevieve this isn't home, this is hell."
