It was at the Kavanaugh Estate many years ago that Cassie found out that she wasn't human. It was when she was very drunk and she jumped from the top of the house to kill herself that she found out that she couldn't die.
She wasn't going to die by any means.
Cassie walked through the doors of the house with Christian behind her as their mother was already in her room towards the back of the house.
Christian glanced back at Cassie, "You ok?"
Cassie nodded her head, "I just can't believe we are home and ok."
Christian smiled at her, "We are gonna be perfect. We are finally safe."
Cassie watched as her brother went up the main steps toward his room.
Cassie walked into the kitchen as she saw the marks on her arms from the fights from the past few days.
Everything that they had been taught, everything they had been training for was over. Their lives were going to be ok now. They could finally breathe easy.
Cassie shook her head as she went out the back door and down the steps.
She cut through the little garden and hopped over the fence.
She grabbed the barn door and tossed it back.
The old car looked back at her.
She went over to the fridge and grabbed a beer as she rested on the hood of the car looking back at the house.
"What is the Reality of me being able to sit down next to you?"
Cassie looked up as Jax was looking back at her with a smile on his lips.
Jax pointed to the car, "So Cassie, what do you think?"
She cracked a smile as he sat down next to her.
Jax looked back at the house, "A hard time coming back here when I know you were a baby when I was walked through those doors."
Cassie looked over at him.
"I mean you were 15."
Cassie cracked a smile, "I'm not 15 anymore."
Jax smiled back at her as he took the beer from her, "No you aren't 15 anymore."
Cassie swung her leg over as Jax pushed himself up the car hood a little more.
Jax grabbed her waist as she put her hands on his face.
Cassie looked down at him, "It's been a while since I got to look at you like this."
Jax glanced back at her, "I have always been watching you like this."
Cassie kissed his lips as Jax's hands went up her back.
Jax slipped her shirt from her body and he saw something that was never there.
