There are a lot more ways to go about this. However, for her, there wasn't an alternative.
For the most part, she feels incompetent, under the gaze of her prying classmates, and one, in particular, that makes her sentiment intolerable. She should open her mouth and say something, but words are getting filtered out by her uncertainty of something else, something dreadful. If she were to deny and reject, what would he do? To her, make her days a little more unhappy?
"Marry me." That caught her utterly off-guard. Stumbling through her choices, overthinking everything in mere seconds.
To her to accept and reciprocate, would that be right? Would that make her heart beat fast, and her stomach flutter. Once upon a time, whenever he invaded her thoughts and actions, there's always been something that keeps causing her discomfort, her to go berserk and potentially ruin whatever she may be fulfilling, she had long forgotten how to breathe, looking into his stern fiery eyes, permanently prompting her to re-think thrice, she just had to look away. Gather herself together, and not blunder her entire life.
She opened her lips and closed them again, biting her lips in earnest misgiving, she really shouldn't be saying 'yes' but, at that moment, she needed to conceal herself from any harsh criticism. Especially, since everyone is watching, looking at her, anticipating her response.
"I like you as well, but before I say yes, our parents should know." She begin and she ended, avoiding making eye contact with anyone. Seeing as there was nothing to do, to correct and evade, she swiftly made her way back to her haven. There was no way, she was going to be with him for the entirety of her living days, there's no way her parents would agree if she disagreed. And there's absolutely no way they both could be together when they were the opposites. Her parents would know, better than her.
Katsuki, however, does not dislike a challenge.
"I told you, I said yes because I had no other option, and everyone was watching and I panicked." She explained, worry dawdled all over her face, arms folded, eyebrows wrinkled, the elders stared, her mother concerned, while her father grinned, chuckling. "First of all, do you like him?" Her mother inquired her anxious daughter, she glanced at them with open eyes, quickly shaking her head to wordlessly convey her message, "you don't like him? Then, how come you said yes?" Her father implored, leaning forward with misplaced interest. She felt like a deer, about to get impaled by a vicious lion's teeth.
"I said before I say yes, we should let our parents know, I never explicitly gave him a yes." She repeated for the second time, both annoyed and scared. "Do you think he'll come to talk with us?" She stopped her movement for a minute, thinking over to the blonde male, with an arrogant smile.
"I'm not sure, but he won't back down either. He might, and I don't want to be with him for the rest of my life, because we don't match with each other, our personalities, our ideals, they don't cordial." She said, observing her parents reaction.
"How is he by the way? Have we seen him?" Your mother asked with a mischievous look, glancing over to her husband.
"Yeah, you probably should have, he placed first on the sport's festive. So, you've seen him, I guess?" She answered. Her parents took a moment, to think if they were making the correct assumptions. "You mean that blonde-haired kid who they had to tie because he wouldn't cooperate?" She nervously nodded.
"That boy sounds like a nuisance." Her mother remarked. Suddenly dropping her smile.
"Well, I'm sure he must like you a lot to take such a big step in beginning a relationship with you." Her father said, ignoring the grim look on his wife's face.
"Why won't you give him a chance? See if he's willing to change for you? You said some pretty bad things about his personality, let's see if he can minimise it."
She wanted to quibble, but she kept quiet.
She couldn't tell them, that he was the reason behind leaving her previous school.

Very short, I guess you've guessed right, then who comes next?
