Is There Somewhere - Halsey

"Is there somewhere you can meet me? 'Cause I clutched your arms like stairway railings. And you clutched my brain and eased my ailing. You're writing lines about me; romantic poetry."

Y/N's POV

"Just breathe okay?" Evan said, standing with me as I paced around the living room.

I nodded and tried to steady myself by taking deep, slow breaths. In... out. In... out. I could feel my heart rate slowing down and was thankful that I avoided a painful anxiety attack.

I looked back up at Evan with glossy eyes. "What if I screwed this up? She won't answer my phone calls..." I trailed off as I felt tears threatening to fall. I have called her about four more times since the original three and have gotten the voicemail again and again.

On the last call, I  decided to leave a voice message. Taking a steadying breath, I said "Lizzie, please call me back. I know I fucked up and I'm so sorry. I've been so shitty and I understand that. Please, just hear me out.. I -"

I froze as I heard banging coming from the front door. I looked at Evan who just looked back at me confused.

"Are you expecting someone?" He asked, hesitantly.

I shook my head 'no' in response, still holding the phone to my ear. I watched Evan as he walked across the living room, past the kitchen and to the door. He looked through the peephole and immediately turned back, looking at me with his eyes bulging out of his head.

"It's her!" He whisper-screamed.

"What?!" I whisper-screamed back.

"It's Lizzie!" He replied.

"I gotta go." I said to her voicemail, like an idiot, as I hung up the phone. I immediately started to run my fingers through my hair in a desperate attempt to make myself look at least a little bit more presentable.

Lizzie banged on the door some more and I looked at Evan panicked.

"Those knocks sound mad, Evan!"

"Yeah they do but they're only going to get worse the more you make her wait outside!" He said firmly, still in a hushed tone.

"Y/N, open up!" I heard Lizzie say through the door. "I know you're in there I can literally hear you."

Oh, yeah. She sounds mad.

I looked back at Evan and swallowed the lump in my throat that felt like a damn golf ball, nodding for him to finally open the door.

He slowly turned the handle and watched wide eyes as the blonde shot her way through the front door, coming at me with her finger pointed at me menacingly.

If I wasn't so fucking terrified right now, it would be hot.

"Are you fucking kidding me, Y/N?! No communication for almost a week and -"

Lizzie stopped herself, realizing that if i'm standing in the living room, I couldn't have possibly opened the door. She pivoted her body to look at the man still holding the door open and then took a deep breath. She turned back to me with tears in her eyes and whispered "You went back to him?"

"What?" I asked gently. Then it hit me. "Oh, God no, Liz. That's Evan, my brother. Not Kevin."

"Oh," She said as she let out a shaky sigh of relief. "I just thought -" She stopped herself as she closed her eyes and shook her head to clear her thoughts. She opened them back up and turned her attention back to Evan. "Hi, Evan. It's nice to meet you."
