"I didn't know if you knew, So I'm taking this chance to say, That I had the best day with you today."

Lizzie's POV
I woke up the next morning facing the window in Y/N's bedroom. Y/N had her arm curled around my body and her face resting in the crook of my neck. Her warm body behind me was a nice contrast to the coolness on my front side.
I could get used to waking up like this. This was not so bad.
I slowly extended my legs under the covers in order to stretch them. They still felt a little like jelly, but I don't think they'll end up being too sore. I'll just get small reminders of our night throughout the day, which I was not complaining about.
Apparently, my movements, although small, were enough to wake up my sleeping lover behind me. She moved to stretch out her limbs before grabbing me again and wrapping herself around me once more.
"Good morning." I said, softly.
"Morning, love." She grumbled back, making me giggle.
I turned around in her arms so that I was now facing her and stroked some hair that had fallen in her face behind her ear. "What do you want to do today?"
"I - uh... I was thinking..." She started before trailing off. Giving her a slightly confused look, I waited patiently for her to tell me what she had in mind. She cleared her throat and said "I was thinking that, maybe, we could go see my Gram? If you're up for it. I don't know how much time she has left but I really want her to meet you."
Giving her a soft smile, I nodded back. "I would love to meet the woman who means so much to you."
She leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on my lips before getting up and heading to the bathroom, turning the shower on. She peeked her head out and raised her eyebrows. "Are you joining me?"
"Of course," I said, getting up and excitedly making my way from the bed.
"Good, because you stink." She shot back, giggling.
"Hey!"
We stepped into the shower and let the hot water run down our bodies. It felt amazing and I was instantly more relaxed. I turned around to face Y/N as she wrapped her arms around my waist and rested her head on my shoulder. I started rubbing my hands up and down her back to comfort her as much as possible, even though I wasn't sure what was going on in her head. I just wanted to be there for her. After a bit, I whispered over the spray of the water, "What's wrong?"
She let out a sigh and said, "I haven't gone to visit my Gram in a while because I didn't know if I could handle it. I know how selfish that sounds too. And I can't help but think I've lost so much time with her because I've been scared." She scoffed at herself before continuing. "Can you believe that, Liz? She was the one going through treatments and I was scared. How pathetic."
"Hey, hey, look at me." I said as I grabbed her face and brought her head up to where her eyes met mine. "You are not pathetic. You just need to talk to her. I think that would make you feel better, and I bet, if she's as amazing as you make her out to be, she will understand and still love you no matter what." I wiped the tears that were streaming out of her eyes and kissed the corners of her eyes one-by-one before moving to her lips and placing a gentle kiss there too. "I'll be with you the whole time, if you want me to be."
"Thank you. Liz." She said, leaning in to give me another kiss. "I want you there."

We pulled up outside of the nursing home and Y/N parked the car and sat, staring out the window, finding the courage to get up and move.
