graduation day.

to yeosang, this was potentially one of the most important days of his life. to seonghwa, a reminder of what could have been. he had made the decision though, he wanted to watch yeosang succeed and provide for the boy in any way possible. he wanted to be his number one supporter and help him get through all of his exams. if seonghwa had opted to go to school, they wouldn't be living in their pretty little apartment, they'd still be living in seonghwa's parents' basement. it wasn't all that bad there, but it wasn't ideal, and to seonghwa, it was a bit embarrassing. they were living the life seonghwa wanted for them, and yeosang was finally going to be able to get his dream job. that alone made seonghwa happy.

"hwa, have you seen my tie?"

"which one?"

"the one i bought like... three weeks ago!" yeosang shouted frustratedly from the closet.

seonghwa frowned, getting up from the couch and heading into their room at the stressed sound of yeosang's voice. he gently grabbed onto yeosang's sides, pulling the boy backwards into his arms.

"hey... go sit down and relax for a minute, i'll find it."

yeosang nodded, chewing his lip, then obliged and sat down at the edge of their bed while seonghwa went into the closet and looked for the boy's tie. eventually, he found it and walked it over to yeosang, who was nervously staring at his feet.

"here you go, baby..." he whispered, kissing the boy's forehead.

"thank you, hwa..."

"anything for you, my love. how are you doing? nervous?"

yeosang nodded, avoiding making eye contact. he was embarrassed that he was so nervous about graduation, it wasn't like he wasn't going to hear his name called or anything. all he had to do was walk across a stage and shake a couple of hands and then he was done.

"look at me, yeo... tell me what's running through that beautiful mind of yours."

"i-i don't know... i just... today's a lot."

"i get it... that's okay, y'know?"

"i feel... a bit overwhelmed, i guess? a-and knowing that i'm only gonna have you and our friends there... i don't know what to feel..."

"just hang in there, okay? we can always take a rain check on going out with the boys after if you're not feeling it. today's for you, my love."

yeosang nodded, sighing as he hugged onto seonghwa. the older pressed a soft kiss to his head and then encouraged him to continue getting ready, then went to the living room again and took out his phone. he called his mom, hoping that maybe (just maybe) she would be able to come to support yeosang's success. she had always loved the younger as her own.

"hey, mom?"

"hi, sweetheart. what's up? you never call! you always just text."

"i'm sorry, i hope i didn't worry you... i just... what are you doing today?"

"oh, not much! your father and i were going to go out for lunch and then we're just gonna watch a movie or something."

"dad's back from his business trip already? i thought he wouldn't be back for another week!"

"ahh, that's what i thought too, but i got lucky. how's yeosang?"

"he's good... a bit nervous today though. he's graduating."

"oh! that's amazing, seonghwa..."

"i was wondering... would you and dad be able to come? he's a bit overwhelmed and isn't exactly excited considering it's just our friends and myself there to cheer for him."
