as the days passed, seonghwa grew more irritable. yeosang and seonghwa were constantly fighting again, and yeosang had decided that he had enough. he couldn't handle this anymore.
"seonghwa, we need to talk."
"can it wait? i'm going to min's."
"no... it actually can't. i-i'm sick of you wanting to wait and then going and getting drunk or high and not being able to..."
seonghwa sighed and rolled his eyes, then nodded.
"fine. let's talk."
the two boys sat on the couch and yeosang took a deep breath, squeezing his eyes shut before looking at seonghwa.
"i can't do this anymore, hwa... i can't take the fighting. i know you're upset a-and i know you need time to process things before you go looking for a new job, but i have feelings too..."
"why is everything about you?"
"i-it's not! i just don't want to fight anymore," yeosang muttered, eyes welling with tears.
"oh, c'mon... don't cry."
"i'm not doing this anymore, hwa. i want to be here for you to lean on but i shouldn't have to worry about us fighting every day... i-i'm gonna stay with woo for a bit."
"wait— no, no... please, no..."
yeosang shook his head, tears finally falling down his cheeks.
"i can't, hwa..."
"f-for how long?"
"until i'm ready..."
"sang, please..."
as yeosang shook his head again, he stood, beginning to move away from seonghwa.
"i-i'm sorry... i-i just can't handle us fighting every single day."
"i-i'll be better, i-i promise!"
"you can't promise that, hwa... you need time too, whether you believe it or not. i-i'll still check on you, i promise... i just can't stay here right now. i-it's too much."
seonghwa sighed, letting his eyes fall to the ground before he looked up again.
"c-can we cuddle before you go? i-i can just be silent if you want..."
yeosang frowned slightly at seonghwa's words, then nodded.
"we can cuddle, but you don't have to be silent... let's just try not to fight so we can both enjoy it. okay?"
seonghwa nodded, getting up and following yeosang to their room. the two boys laid down, seonghwa's arms around the younger, and the two could instantly feel that something had changed. it scared both of them, thinking about how quickly things had gone from perfect to not.
the two stayed quiet, trying to simply enjoy being together peacefully, but soon, seonghwa started to cry. he wanted this to feel better now.
"hwa... love, it's going to be okay... we just both need some space and time right now to clear our minds. it's going to be like a reset back to the way things were before, i'm sure of it."
seonghwa sighed, trying to stop his tears as he nodded, sniffling.
"c-can i still call you whenever i need you?"
"of course you can. i love you, seonghwa."
"i-i love you too..."
the boys were silent for the next twenty minutes or so, when seonghwa's phone started to ring, mingi's contact showing up on the screen.
"hey..." seonghwa said softly.
"you still coming over? joong just got here and you know how impatient he is when it comes to smoking."
"mmm, you can start without me, but y-yeah... i'm still coming."
"everything okay, hwa?"
"sure... we'll go with that. i'll see you later."
"hwa... c'mon, talk to me..."
"later, min..."
seonghwa hung up before the younger could say anything else, a sigh leaving his lips.
"i should get packing... woo's expecting me soon," yeosang said, looking at the older for approval.
"yeah, i should probably head out too... min's waiting for me."
the two got up and seonghwa headed out, yeosang beginning to pack his bags so he could go over to wooyoung's soon. within minutes of beginning to pack, yeosang had called wooyoung in tears, begging for his help.
"what can i do to help, sangie?" wooyoung asked sweetly.
the older couldn't seem to get any words out, instead letting out only a few choked sobs. with this, wooyoung walked over and pulled the boy into a tight hug, then guiding him to sit down.
"just try your best to relax, okay? i'll pack some of your things and if you think of anything you need or want to bring, just let me know."
yeosang nodded, whimpering as wooyoung started to pack his things.
"san's gonna sleep on the couch tonight so that you and i can share a bed... he offered."
"o-okay..."
"you're gonna figure this out, sang... i believe in you."
yeosang smiled weakly, appreciating his best friend's words.
it didn't take much longer until the younger had packed his yeosang's things and they were off to wooyoung and san's house. almost as soon as they had gotten there, the two boys made their way to the bedroom and laid down side by side. wooyoung held yeosang as he cried, comforting the older the best he could.
"i've got you, sang... you're going to be okay."
