the following days went incredibly smooth, and everyone noticed a change in both seonghwa and yeosang's behaviors. the two were slightly happier overall, although seonghwa was still having a really hard time with only seeing yeosang for a little while each day. today was a harder day for the oldest, and he had gone to mingi's to vent a bit.
"hwa... you know this is the right option... you know you have to respect what he wants right now."
"i-i know... today's just... it's been really hard today a-and i-i don't know what to do..."
"so call him... see if he'll come home a bit earlier than he usually does from woo's. i'm sure if you explain what's going on he'll say yes."
"b-but i feel bad..." seonghwa whimpered slightly, mingi pulling him into a brief hug.
"do you want me to text him then?"
"n-no... i-i'll be okay... i-i'll just ask him if i can pick him up from woo's tonight instead of woo driving him home."
mingi nodded.
"as long as you're sure..."
seonghwa stuck around mingi's for about an hour later, leaving as hongjoong walked inside.
"hi, hwa..."
"hi, joong."
"heading out so soon?"
seonghwa only nodded, causing a slight frown from hongjoong when he realized the boy had to have been having a rough day.
"wanna stay and smoke with us?"
seonghwa paused for a moment. he knew he shouldn't, he wanted to be better for yeosang. but one hit couldn't hurt, right?
"i—"
"seonghwa..." mingi warned.
"right... i shouldn't. thank you for the offer though, joongie... i-i just... i need to work on fixing things with sangie first... i can't lose him."
"alright... text me if you change your mind or anything, i can bring something over for you if you want."
"thanks but no thanks... i really need to work on not needing weed to ease my stress."
"okay... offer still stands though," hongjoong shrugged.
"joong... stop it. he said no," mingi intervened, noticing how seonghwa now seemed hesitant about leaving.
"fine," hongjoong grumbled.
he had always liked seonghwa better high... or at least since he had gotten together with yeosang. the boy was just so relaxed and carefree when he was high, it was something so beautiful to hongjoong.
"thanks, min... i-i'll see you guys later."
"see you," the two boys inside called as he left.
seonghwa sat in his car for a moment, debating the options he had, before deciding to text yeosang and see what he was up to.
