A cool breeze came up, swaying her hair across her face. Lisa lifted one hand and tucked the loose strands behind her ear as she leaned against the metal railing, inhaling the morning sea air. The sudden smell of gasoline aroused her senses as a smile spread across her cracked lips. She closed her eyes, the strong sunlight swimming outside her eyelids. It was soothing. The liberating, light feeling spread through her chest and made her breathing become calmer and calmer. The sound of seagulls and distant horns met her ears as two arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her closer.
Lisa sighed, turning her head to gently brush her cheek against the soft skin. The girl laughed, squeezing her a little tighter and resting her chin on the blonde's shoulder. She took her eyes back to the water, the Sydney Bay Bridge stretching out to either side. The view was beautiful. Tourists and local residents crowded around the edge of the harbor and further along the entrance to the Opera House. It was crowded and yet a sense of calm remained in the air. Lisa had been to many cities in her life, from Paris and New York to Saigon and most recently Johannesburg. But there was something about Sydney with its blue water and clean beaches that made everything different for her.
"Look, I don't want you to judge me." The taller one murmured softly in her ear. "But your girlfriend is very strange."
"I heard that."
Lisa and Chaeyoung both turned at the sound of that voice, the girl's tone with mild amusement. Jennie was standing next to her best friend's girlfriend, Jisoo, a few feet away from them near a lamppost, her camera in hand. That smile lit up her features, causing butterflies to appear in Lisa's stomach as her lips mirrored hers. The two girls smiled, the blonde turning to face Chaeyoung with a smile.
"Yeah, I know." She smiled, looking at Jennie as she spoke, "But she's so good in bed."
"I heard that too." Jennie said, walking over to them still with the smile on her face.
"You weren't the only one." Chaeyoung complained, walking past her as she went to Jisoo and they started walking away leaving the two alone.
"Hi to you." Jennie said softly, placing her hands on Lisa's waist.
"Hi." She sighed, gently meeting her lips with the girl's. Jennie moaned contentedly against her mouth as Lisa brought her left hand to rest on her cheek, her finger running across the soft skin. The brunette interrupted the kiss after a moment, only to press her lips against the inside of Lisa's wrist and over the discreet black paint. She smiled at the gesture, her eyes going to the same words on Jennie's wrist.
Three weeks.
They had been thinking about doing them for a while, but as is Jennie's wont, it wasn't until they passed a place in the afternoon a few months ago that she dragged it in. That was one thing that never changed. It had been almost a year since the dance studio and the brunette never stopped being that girl. The one who made everything out of nothing and the one Lisa had fallen in love with so many years ago.
"You're lucky that I love you." Jennie murmured, running her fingers against the ink.
"And why is that?"
"Because your handwriting is absolutely terrible." Jennie joked, placing her own wrist between them. Lisa smiled at the clear difference in their writing. At the time it had seemed romantic when the brunette had told her she wanted her to write the words. And she agreed, knowing that her tattoo would be perfect.
"Hey, it was your idea. I wonder if anyone is having regrets."
"No, I'm just commenting."
Jennie gave an adorable peck, Lisa moving closer again. She pressed her lips against hers in an attempt to get rid of the amused look on her face, the brunette smiling before pulling away. She kept her light grip on the metal, pinning the blonde against the railing.
