—∗✩) ☘︎ (✩∗—It was still cold the next morning but it was much more bearable than the one before. Despite the chill hanging in the air, his blankets were surprisingly cozy. Turning onto his side, Jungkook snuggled deeper beneath them only to find himself nose to nose with his peacefully sleeping roommate.
Her eyes were softly closed and her lips slightly parted. She was in a deep sleep and oblivious to how close they were.
The sight made his brain snap awake. Looking at the rest of his surroundings, he could see why he was so warm despite the room being frigid.
Covering their bodies were their combined blankets, and her pillow was right next to his. She wasn't touching him but she was close enough for him to feel gentle heat radiating from her body. She was warm and he could tell just by looking at her that her body was soft. It seemed that any deprivation of physical contact would disappear after only a few seconds of snuggling with her. On a day like this, she would probably make the perfect cuddle buddy.
Not that he wanted to be cuddled, it was just an observation.
...Ok, maybe he did want to be cuddled. Cuddling was fucking awesome. He loved being the little spoon and he would fight anybody that called him a bitch for liking it. Big spoon was cool too but being safely held and having soft titties pressing against his back was the fucking bees knees.
Instead of gauging how cuddly she was, what he needed to do was warm up the dorm like he promised.
Carefully so that he wouldn't wake her, he left their makeshift bed. The cold gripped him as soon as he left the blanket, making him wrap his arms around himself as he rushed to the kitchen to turn the oven back on. Once he could see the orange glow of the flames beneath the slots in the oven floor, he rushed back to the living room where he then paused, hit with a dilemma.
Dahlia was still sleeping right next to where he was a moment ago. They would be so close that one would easily think they were sleeping together if they saw them like that.
A chill then shook his body, making him toss the entire internal conflict out of the window. Fuck it. This was a matter of survival. It was cold, that spot was warm and he was getting back in it. No one else was there to see anyway, and it wasn't like Pup or Kit's fuck asses could burst through the door. They were still trapped by the snow too.
Heart beating faster, he eased back under the blankets and snuggled down until they were covering his shoulder, and he breathed a silent, relieved sigh that he hadn't woken her up. Already feeling warmer, he forced his eyes closed. The last thing she'd want to see when she woke up was him connecting her moles together like a constellation with his eyes, and it felt wrong to turn his back toward her.
Fully awake with nothing to do, his mind decided that this was the perfect time to overanalyze some shit.
Their quality time together may have been forced upon them by nature but it showed Jungkook a new side of Dahlia, or rather, a side he'd intentionally refused to see from the very beginning. His disappointment at having a roommate after being solitary was genuine, especially after dealing with someone as problematic as Olivia, but the hostility he showed Dahlia was because he liked her from the first moment he saw her.
He more than liked her. He was attracted to her so strongly that it scared him. He wasn't blind: Dahlia was beautiful, a trait she held even yesterday morning when she was mean mugging because the room was too bright and her hair was all over her head. Her southern belle charm made people easily fall in love with her personality, his friends included. Yes, they liked her body too but since neither of them had been successful in their 'let's see who can fuck her first' contest, they would have lost interest and ghosted her had her personality not won them over. She was a member of their friend group now whether he liked it or not.
