"Good morning, Sunflower."
It felt surreal, as if the last few hours had been an elaborate dream that somehow left her body feeling weak and satisfied. There was no way she was laying in the bed of the man she once hated, but as she felt his soft lips pressing against the curve of her neck, and his rough yet gentle hand sliding beneath her waist beads to secure itself around her soft tummy, the truth became too real to deny.
Dahlia was in Bunny's bed, held in Bunny's arms.
His voice, deep and raspy from sleep, resonated through her body. "Come on, baby. Wake up."
The term rolled off his tongue with ease, as if he'd given her that title in his mind months ago. Combined with the feel of him nuzzling against her neck, her body filled with warmth, and a smile played at her lips as her eyes fluttered open.
Turning over in his embrace, she gazed up at him with affection shining in her eyes. "What did you call me?"
He smirked. "I knew your ass wasn't still sleep."
"What did you call me?" She repeated, smiling.
"'What did you call me?'" He mocked, lifting his voice to a nasal octave, badly imitating her southern drawl.
"Bunny!" She half whined, softly hitting his chest with the back of her hand. "Tell me what you said!"
"I called you baby," he finally answered. His voice then softened with consideration while his hand caressed her skin. "Is that ok with you?"
After last night, it was more than ok. Speaking of...
His hair was a mess, and the dark circles beneath his puffy eyes said that he'd had a long night. She hadn't forgotten that it happened, he made sure it would be impossible for her to ever forget, but recounting the past few hours made warmth rush to her face, as well as other places.
As her mind replayed the highlights of his head between her thighs as he caused her to feel pleasure so intense that her body could somehow still feel his lips kissing and his tongue swirling circles around her flower, her smile turned shyer by the second.
After nearly whispering, "Yeah, that's ok," the sweet, handsome smile he gave her made it unable to continue holding his gaze.
With her cheeks feeling like they were on fire, she turned and hid her face in the curve of his neck. Hiding under the person she was hiding from may not have been the best strategy, but out of all the possible places she could have gone, she was exactly where she wanted to be.
He laughed, the vibrations from his sleep-deepened voice penetrating through her body, and he wrapped his arm tighter around her.
