Feeling a small bit of happiness that his usual parking space was available, Bun pulled into it, his tires crushing days old rock salt into the concrete. The gear shift echoed in the small cabin of his BMW as he shifted into park, then he took off his seatbelt and slouched down in his seat, never thinking he'd be eager to return to a place like Harrison, but here he was, feeling a strange version of happy to be back.

Backpack slung over his shoulder, he gave a head nod to the few familiar faces he saw, took the stairs, and already felt the familiarity of his surroundings bringing a sense of comfort as his door came into view. His holiday proved to be an extended test of his mental strength and emotional endurance, and regardless of whether he passed the test or not, he was glad that it was over.

Unlike the day he first moved into the dorm, Dahlia was already there, looking like the princess of cuffing season in her loose fitting plaid pajama pants, a long-sleeved shirt with a v-neckline that ended just before the valley between her breasts, and her wavy hair pushed out of her face with a terry cloth headband. Sitting on the sofa with her legs tucked under her and on her phone, she smiled up at him as soon as he opened the door.

Somehow reading each other's minds, they both fought to hide their smiles as he closed the door and dropped his backpack, and she imitated him as he took a deep inhale and together, they exhaled his ritual loud, hard sigh of relief.

More than his usual nose exhale of a chuckle, he let out what felt like the first genuine laugh since before he left.

"Hey, Bunny," she giggled. Just with those two words, he could hear the renewed richness of her accent. She sounded just as southern as the day she moved in.

"Whassup, girl," he said. "I'm surprised you beat me here."

Pausing to find the right words, she smiled and looked away. "It was great being back home, but... I kinda missed the peace and quiet."

"Your sisters and brothers worked your nerves or something?" he asked, pulling off his hoodie.

Her head tilt and the way her eyes widened said that she wanted to confirm but instead, she just exhaled a laugh. "What about you?" She asked. "How was your holiday?"

Between recollections of the shouting, the silent treatment, and the apologies that were just a little too late, her question made his smile gradually fade until the side of his lower lip tucked itself into his mouth. Instead of answering, he asked her a question of his own as he took off his boots and placed them by the door.

"Can I request something that's gonna sound kind of weird?"

She looked away and back, intrigued yet apprehensive. "Um... Sure. What's up?"

"I know you got a boyfriend and shit so free to tell me to fuck off if I'm asking too much," he prefaced, rubbing the back of his neck, "but, um..."

He paused, scratching an imaginary itch beside his mouth with his thumb as he stared at the intersecting lines of red, black, white and a little bit of metallic gold on her plaid pants, knowing his request only further elevated him to the title of the crown prince of corruption, but fuck it. He already opened his mouth, and Sarang ain't raise no bitch.

She raised a fucking degenerate, but no bitch.

"Can I lay my head in your lap?"

When she blinked up at him, he immediately went on to explain, already preparing to be denied but hoping that just maybe, she would understand.
