Scarlett POV
It's been a few days and Ash hasn't responded to my phone calls or texts. I don't know where she lives anymore or I would just show up at her door.
"Hey baby are you home?" I heard Colin say.
"Out back Colin." I said.
"Baby, are you ok? You have been off since you came back from the premiere." Colin asked with genuine concern.
I sigh, looking up at him. I smiled at him. "Colin, I need to tell you something. Something I have kept to myself for nearly 20 years."
"Ok," he said, slowly, sitting beside me.
"I met the love of my life when I was 7 years old. She was one of Adrian and Vanessa's best friends. For a while, she was my brothers really cool friend that played soccer and ruffled my hair. When I was down, she made me smile, if somebody broke my heart, she made me smile. Somewhere along the way, I fell in love with her. She had the most beautiful amber eyes that twinkled when she smiled. She was really tall and had a body I can't even describe. The way she moved when she played soccer it was like she was dancing."
"What was her name?" Colin asked.
"Ashlyn, Ashlyn Summers." I said. "Although now she goes by Ashlyn McGuire."
"Scarlett, I... I..."
"Colin, please let me finish. I promise it will all make sense."
"Ok baby, go ahead."
"Anyway, her Dad was a Marine General, and being his daughter, she joined the Marines. Went on right out of high school, and because of who her father was, she was guaranteed she wouldn't be sent overseas. Then 9/11 happened, and she shipped out. I never saw her again. Ash was my first, in everything, kiss, make out partner, and my first sexual experience. At the premiere, a song played that made me think of her, and when I looked up I swore I saw her. Her eyes are that unforgettable. For 18 years I thought she was dead, and last week she walked into my meeting with Kevin. She is the new attorney for Marvel." I said.
"Oh Scarlett, I'm so sorry. Why did you think she was dead?"
"Apparently she did come home, 9 months after she left. I was in Japan at the time, and apparently my Mother told her off. I don't know what she said to Ash, but I also found out my Mom stole all my letters to and from her, after she found out about us. She kind of went off the deep end."
"I mean, I understand why, to an extent. You were young, your career was just starting, coming out as gay, or even bisexual could have ruined your career, Scarlett."
"No, I get all that, but I'm pretty sure it's because she found out Ash was intersex, and had sex with me."
"Ooooooo, that might be it."
"Colin, I've been married twice, and while I loved both of them, to some degree, a piece of me was always missing. I gave her my heart when I was 16." I said, taking his hands in mine.
"Colin, you are a good man. You are smart, funny, and kind. You picked me up when I needed it, and made me a better woman, but you deserve someone that will love you with their whole heart. You deserve someone that doesn't have the baggage I carry."
"Scarlett, I, I do love you, but I get it. I understand. I can't imagine what you feel for her. If you're asking me to step aside, I will." he said.
"Colin, I do love you, but I'm not in love with you. I do want a chance to see if she still loves me the way I love her. Right now, she won't even answer my calls, or talk to me, but we need to have a long conversation."
"Scarlett, I'm not going to stand in your way. Go get the love of your life. I do hope you can make it work, and I hope one day, you will introduce us." He said, standing.
"Colin, if you want to stay here, it's fine. Rose will be with her Dad through Sunday, and then we will head to my house in the Hamptons."
"That's fine. I hope you get her Scar, I hope she realizes how special you really are." He said, kissing my cheek.
"Thank you Colin," I said, hugging his neck.
"I'm gonna stay with Lizzie for a few days, she is still in town, and we have our final meeting with the attorneys this week."
"Scarlett, you can keep the house, I still have my apartment. It was yours before I moved in."
"I never meant for this to happen Colin, but..."
"It's OK! I'm not gonna lie, it hurts, but I understand. I'm glad you told me. I'm gonna grab a bag and go."
"Goodbye, Colin."
"Goodbye, Scarlett."
After he left, I went upstairs and ran a bath, dropping a bath bomb in, while I stripped. Slipping into the hot water, I allowed it to ease the tension from my body.
My mind drifted to her, her once shaggy sandy blonde hair, while still short and shaggy, was peppered with gray, and her eyes. I remember the feel of her hands on my body, her kisses, God, just thinking of her made my core hot and wet, throbbing for her touch.
As the water cooled, I lifted my body out of the tub and wrapped a towel around me. I entered my bedroom, a room and bed I had shared with him. I put on some pajamas, and made my way to the guest room. I would sleep here till he got his stuff and a new bed for me.
I drifted off to sleep, her eyes running through my mind.

A/N: So.... Now Colin and Scar are done... but what's gonna happen with Ash and Scar? Hmmmmm.
