POV: Ash
It's been almost a month and a half since I held Scarlett in my arms, kissed her soft lips. God I miss her. We have talked everyday that she has been gone, but it's not the same.
This last JAG session has me worried. This case should have been handled by the MPs, but they can't seem to get their act together. Alex agreed to fly to Iraq and oversee the apprehension of the suspects. I'm not happy about it and Alex knows I'm not. I just feel like there is something we are all missing. She will literally be with us in Vegas for two days and then she is flying out.
"Will you relax? Please?" Alex said beside me.
"I just can't shake this feeling Alex, something about this whole case has raised a lot of unanswered questions."
"I feel the same way. To be honest, I think the reason the MPs are not handling it, is because they are being either paid to ignore, or they are in on it."
"I don't like you going alone..."
"Ash, listen to me, I will be fine. If things go south, I will activate the tracer Dad and Uncle Jack gave us. If you get that signal, you know what to do."
"That I do."
"Attention passages, this is your Captain speaking. We are about to make our descent into Las Vegas. Please fasten your seatbelts and make sure your tray tables are in the locked position. Thank you for flying Southwest Airlines."
As soon as our flight landed, we were whisked away to meet Kevin at the Marvel Panel. They are introducing the Phase 4 lineup to the world. We would love to have a moment to put on civilian attire, feeling like our dress blues are a little over the top. Oh well, it will have to do for now.
We arrived at the convention center and I asked the driver to take us around the back where security was waiting. We stepped out of the car and looked up to see 4 burly security guards snap to attention. I chuckle to myself and look at the men.
"I have to assume you gentlemen served?"
"Yes ma'am they say in unison."
"At ease guys, We are semi-retired. We just came from a JAG meeting in Washington. No time to change."
They all relaxed as we chatted. We learned two of them are former Army Rangers, 1 Navy Seal, and one Marine. Working security for Marvel. Gotta hand it to Kevin Fiege, he knows what he is doing. We were escorted to one of the conference rooms, where we found Kevin talking to one of the other Marvel executives.
After Kevin introduced us, we talked briefly about the new contracts going forward. As we finished up, we stepped back out into the hallway. Kevin said he needed to check on the panels and make sure the interviews were finishing up.
We stepped into a small room, still chatting, and we looked up and saw nearly every member of the Marvel universe. The first to welcome us was none other than Robert Downey, Jr. As we talked and laughed with RDJ, Chris Evans, and Chris Hemsworth, I failed to notice a certain blonde haired, green eyed spitfire running towards me. Before I could brace myself, Scarlett's body was wrapped around me, and her lips were moving against mine. After a very heated and passionate encounter, Scarlett rested her forehead against mine, laughed gently, and smiled.
"HI. I missed you"
As she unlocked her legs and slid down my body, I grinned at her, "It's the uniform isn't it?" Her green eyes, now turning a shade darker, roamed over my body.
"Mmmhmmm."
Behind us, we heard several throats clearing, bringing us out of our little bubble. Scarlett's eyes went wide when she realized we had just outed ourselves to everyone. She buried her very red face in my chest, and started laughing.
