Ash's POV
As I drove back to my office all I could think of was her. The tears in her eyes, her slapping me. In all the way I imagined our reunion, that was definitely not it.
I expected her to be angry, but I thought she knew I came home. Mom told me she had let Scarlett's family know after my accident made headlines, that I was ok.
I arrived back at my office, letting my secretary know, and walking into my office. I looked over Scarlett and Lizzie's old contracts, and Marvel's new proposals. I made notes on both, sending them to my paralegals to review and handle. Since I had no other appointments for today, I decided I needed to see my Mom.
Making the necessary arrangements, I headed home to pack for the weekend. Once I had packed, I threw my bag in the car, and pointed the car towards the Hamptons.
After what felt like hours, I pulled up to the gates of my parents' Hampton estate. As I rolled up the driveway, I saw my Father sitting on the porch, and my two nieces running around the yard.
Getting out, I heard my mom. "Ashlyn Marie! I was not expecting you. I figured you would be holed up writing the new contracts for Marvel." She said, smiling at me.
"Hi Ma," I said, hugging her. "Yea, I needed to clear my head, and get out of the city for a few days."
"Auntie Ash!!" I heard my nieces, Erin and Capri, yell as they ran and jumped into my arms. "Can we play soccer, Auntie Ash?? Please." Erin begged.
"Maybe later girls, I need to talk to Grandma. Is that ok?" I said to them.
"Ok!!" they say in unison as they run off.
"You saw her didn't you?" my Mom asked.
"I did, and she slapped the shit out of me in front of Kevin and Elizabeth Olsen."
"You probably had it coming." my Mom said, walking back in the house.
"Wait! Who's side are you on here?! Hi Pop!" I said, walking past my Dad and his nurse as I followed my Mom.
"Ashlyn, you have avoided her for 18 years, what did you expect? Her to run into your arms?" my Mom asked.
"No, but, yea I deserved it. I pretty much blew her off, and acted like I barely knew her. We argued, and she said something that bothered me. She said she never knew I came home, she thought I was dead. She also said she never stopped writing, and accused me of not writing to her." I said, while hopping on the counter.
"Sweetie, I called Melanie after your Dad arrived in Germany and made sure you were alive. She sounded relieved and said she would let the kids know. She said Scarlett was in Europe filming, Hunter was at school."
"I don't know Ma, but she still has my necklace. She had it on today when I saw her." I said, with a smile.
"Ashlyn baby, she loves you. I don't think she ever stopped. You have got to hear her out. Just make sure you hear her out, before you fall into bed with her." she said, smirking at me.
"MOM!!" I gasped.
"Don't give me that, I may be older, but don't even try and make me believe you two were not upstairs making out every chance you got, and I know damn well you slept together before you shipped out." she said matter of factly.
"Mom!!" I said, blushing.
"Don't 'Mom' me you lady. Ashlyn, talk to her. She deserves the truth from you, and you deserve the truth from her. It won't be easy honey, but you two were made for each other."
"I will hear her out Mom, I promise, but she is dating someone, and I won't ruin it for her. I just want her to be happy. Maybe Melanie was right, if she is with me, it could ruin her career." I said, remembering Melanie's words to me.
