The business party was very boring but I have to put up with it. There are lots of familiar faces that I saw, which I can remember talking to, when my dad brought me with him to a business party four years ago.
And most especially, the faces of my family. There was Joshua, Sean, my mom, and Johnny. They were all there, waving their hands at me except for Johnny hyung.
I fake a smile and sneakily hide myself behind Mark because honestly, I don't want to go there right now. I don't want to face them yet.
"Donghyuck." Mark calls me out, his head dropping to meet my ears. "I'm sorry, love."
I tug his wrist and shyly lift my eyes to him. "H-Home, please? Let's go home. I want to go home with you. L-Let's just talk, please?"
Mark kept me close and rested both his hands on my waist. "Thirty minutes. I'll just prove their rumours wrong." Then Mark proceeds to kiss my temple sweetly, in front of everyone.
"I love you." He whispers, just enough for me to hear and not the whole world, before pulling me gently to meet his business partners or more like an acquaintance.
"Hi?" Mark says, pulling me with him, still. "Mr. Moon! You look extra good today."
"I look extra good everyday!" The man says with a loud laugh. "Who's this with you?"
"Lee Donghyuck, my husband."
"Since when?" Taeil gasped and it was enough for the other people to hear him. "You w-were married?"
"You're the only one who actually doesn't know." Mark replied and snickered. "We've been married for almost two months now."
"That long?" He choked and looked at me from head to toe. "Why did you bring him just then? I could've known sooner."
"My husband's into resting, not this." That's so true!
"I'm Moon Taeil, the owner of the Moon Oil Factory that distributes oil in Asia. Lee Donghyuck, right?" He gave me a sweet smile and a handshake which I immediately welcomed. "You good?"
"Totally..." I said with a shivering voice. Damn, I'm not! "I'm Seo— I mean... Lee Donghyuck. Lee."
"I figured out." Mr. Moon gave me a smirk and looked at my husband with meaningful eyes. "See you around..."
"Y-Yeah! See you around." I release a long sigh once Mr. Moon walked out of my sight. My breathing got heavier but as I look at Mark, I became calmer.
"You okay, love?" Mark asks worriedly. "You're very very red. What's wrong? Are you sick?"
"No, no, no." I assure him with a smile. "I was just shy and uncomfortable—"
"Donghyuck!" The loud voice that called out my name made me flinch on my feet and look to where it was. It was Jeno.
Mark proceeds to grab me by my waist and hide me behind him. I don't want to argue with him about it, though. I know his reasons and that is to protect me and our marriage from other people's eyes.
"Jeno. We already talked about this." Mark said in a stern small warning voice, almost mad. "Keep your distance off my husband."
Jeno cleared his throat and nodded. I was about to calm Mark down but my family called us from the other corner of the venue. I project a long frown but still pull Mark and walk towards them.
"You look good today, my son." My mother welcomed me with a fake smile and hugged me. When she rested her head on my neck, she whispered, "Get your shit together! Everyone knows that fucking secretary of Mark and you has an affair."
