"Donghyuck, wake up."
I hid under the small blankets that Minhyuck gave me earlier. I've been pretending that I'm asleep ever since Mark had gone into the room just a few minutes earlier and tried not to be bothered by his stern voice.
I've been here for about five hours already and it took me by surprise how he never caught up with me until now. I guess I just go used to being soothed as soon as possible.
Fuck, Mark really went stern with his decision that he won't tolerate me.
"I know you're not asleep. If you don't want to talk this out, I will leave you here for now and fetch you tomorrow evening." Mark sighed. "I have to work early tomorrow."
"It's already midnight." I huff. "Why don't you just stay here?"
"There you are…" He says, disappointment still obvious in his voice. "We need to talk."
I don't want to because I'm pretty sure he'll just scold me. I realized I was unreasonable last night but I also do think my feelings were valid. Revelation hurts just as much as physical pain, that's the truth and one can't tell me otherwise, especially if they haven't been there.
Mark tried to lift me up when I did nothing. In the end, I sit up and move farther which he also did.
"Listen…" I saw him gulp before intertwining his hands and looking at me with furrowed eyebrows.
He's mad at me and it makes me wanna cry.
"Your mother…" He starts. "Did nothing wrong."
"I didn't say she did." I argue.
"And what you did last night was unnecessary. You made her cry until she passed out." I gasp into the thick air and felt regret.
"W-What?"
"And they asked me to tell you what really happened before, just so you won't be left in the air." Mark grits and washed his face with his palm, while I still think about how the lady passed out last night.
"I didn't mean to make her pass out…" My voice dwindled. "I-I'm sorry…"
"You should tell that to her, not to me." He hisses. "No, you could've apologized the very moment you raised your voice at her."
Now, I feel bad.
"Do you even know that when Kristina found out your parents conceived you, she got sent out of the country and stole both Johnny and you, from her?"
"W-What?" This time, a loud bell rang loud in my ears. "I-Is that true?"
"Kristina and your dad's parents banned her from going back. Talk about the power that they have…" Mark scoffed. "Your mother went through the peak of death, she lost both of her sons, was forced to do things she doesn't want to do, got forgotten by both of her sons, humiliated and cursed… She went through a lot. And I can't believe you just shouted at her just because she told you the truth."
"Because I was hurt…" My body shook as my tears trailed down on my cheeks. This revelation stings more than what I was told last night. "I-I didn't know…"
"You know Donghyuck, I've been so understanding of your tantrums. You jump into conclusions of me, cheating on you. You always express your emotions without thinking if it's good and reasonable, but I didn't mind it. I wouldn't because I tried to understand you, over and over, I believe you had it worst." He says and his true words stings.
"But this time, love, I'm not going to let you be like that. Your mother had it worst and the least you could do is listen to her, which you didn't do."
