Mark and I had quite a connection with each other. When I say connection—deep connection. I was twenty when he courted me and he did that for quite some time—most probably it was for five months.

I was in love with him at that time. Who wouldn't? A walking green flag—everything that Mark Lee is. Handsome, responsible, consecutive Dean's Lister, loving, very understanding, the epitome of everything good of a man. I couldn't ask for more.

I fell in love and I still do. It's hard to find another Mark Lee in this world and no one would be able to make this heart beat fast like he does.

Everything was perfect until a rumor broke throughout the whole school and the company that my parents have, that Mark Lee is engaged to Kang Mina.

I don't know why, I don't know how. I just know that it stings and up until this very day, I hate him for that.

He never said anything about being engaged but he did tell me that he's leaving for Canada. That news from him confirmed every rumor that lingered around the air—he'll get married to someone else that's not me.

And that shit broke me totally, everything about me.

I tried everything to cut connections with him and the school that I'm in. His number, socials, mails, calls, everything. I cut off everything that reminds me of him and the thing that happened.

I didn't tell him that I knew he was about to get married, I didn't confront him about it since I didn't have the courage to do so and I don't want to hear it from his mouth.

But years later, the 22 year old Seo Donghyuck just received papers to sign and it says that I'm about to get married with the 27 year old Mark Lee.

💍

I never signed the papers. I don't want to. My family is literally selling me to save the company by making me marry the CEO—who just got back from Canada after two freaking years, Mark Lee.

Fuck! Who wouldn't get mad at that?

"You know yourself that you are no use in the company! Your older brothers are already leading it and the only thing that you can do in here is marry him!" What she said made my heart break into tiny pieces.

Being told that you're useless does fucking hurt. Especially if it's from your family.

"They were the ones that made the company fall! You were so greedy of taking over that stupid company after Daddy died that it went bankrupt! Why don't you sell them instead?" I shout back. I don't care about the maids and the guard around us anymore.

I don't want to get married!

"You are... a stupid fucking useless child! How dare you talk to your mom like that—"

"And how dare you use me to bring back the company into prosperity? No real mom would ever do that to their child!"

"Real— real mom?" She cackles in disbelief while I'm left frowning. "Anyway... no matter what you say and do. You are marrying Mark Lee, whether you like it or not!"

She locked the door of my room and left me with a maid and a few guards outside. It's been like this for over a month ever since that news broke out that I'm marrying the Lee Companies CEO.

I don't even want to see him again and besides, isn't he married by now? He was engaged to Kang Mina, the princess of another company that I know.

With a heavy heart I tried to close my eyes shut to everything around me. I hate this so much.
