"It's... pretty." I gasp into the air as I scan the beautiful scenery presented before us.
City lights. The unending river. The cold breeze. And my husband.
"Yeah..." He smiles at me without even looking at the scenery behind him. "You're pretty."
"No." I snicker and shake my head lightly. "I meant the city lights and the river, love."
"It's even more beautiful because you're here with me." He shrugs, resting himself on the bench after. "Love, come here."
"Oh..." I trail off, then sit beside him.
"You don't want to sit on my lap?"
I flush in embarrassment and shake my head to refuse him. I won't do that because I might hurt him.
"The bench is fine..." But I want to sit on his lap, though. "Mark?"
"Yes, love?" He exhales.
"Uh... Why didn't you bring me here again?" I tilt my head in confusion. "I kept on bugging you before but you refused and brought me to other places. Why?"
His eyes wandered around before stopping on me. Mark scoots closer until we're arm to arm, but then he wraps his arm that was close to me, around my shoulders.
"You cried when I first brought you here and this place reminds me of it." He sighs, looking straight into the river but rubbing my arms at the same time. "I did not court you to make you cry. I am courting you to make you happy for the rest of your life."
My heart melted. Along with it is the clear throbbing of my chest in pain from knowing that I was not able to do things that makes him happy.
"But now that we're married, I've come to learn that this isn't supposed to always be happiness. There are times that we hurt each other and most of the time, I make you cry. And I'm sorry for that." My husband dropped his head on mine, leaving me a small kiss then. "But I want you to remember that I love you. I will still love you, no matter what because you are everything to me, Lee Donghyuck."
"L-Love..." My lips trembled, slowly forming itself into a pout and my eyes glimmered.
I don't even know why he still loves me so much despite everything that I did to him. But I want him to know that he is everything that I have, too. He is everything that I want and losing him would mean nothingness for me.
I love him so much.
"Don't you dare cry!" He warns cutely, using his index finger to halt my tears which worked. "I already told you that I don't want to see you cry in here again."
"I'm sorry..." I giggle and bury my face on his neck. "Thank you... so much."
"Do you want to eat a burger?" He asks with a small chuckle and grabs a pack of burger that we bought earlier. "Here..."
I wanted to do it myself though, but Mark opened it for me and made me bite it. I guess I can be babied for a while, right? One pack of burger won't hurt.
"By the way love, I have to visit an adoption centre next week."
"Kids? You support them, love?"
"Yes. It just started last year. Charity works also help lessen the tax of the company but... I really like kids, too." He huffs, biting on the burger after. "If you see them love, you'll probably melt. They're so adorable and kind."
"R-Really?" I exclaim. "So, can I come?"
"Do you want to?"
"Of course!" I yell in happiness. "But... I don't like kids very much."
