As much as Mariah didn't want to admit it, she was terrified. She knew Melo meant what he said before he hung up, and she valued her life. Right after that she called Borrego, MJ, and Sanchez, all telling them she wouldn't be in this week.
The only thing left, was to make sure Melo didn't show up at her hotel room that night. Much to her luck, he wish came true. As soon as she got back she went online and rerouted her tickets from Charlotte to Texas.
Mari chose to go to the one person Melo would never expect her to. Jaden Owens.
She was the only person in the world who knew all about Melo's abuse towards Mariah, and she swore not to tell a soul.
The only reason Jaden found out was because during her time meeting Gelo's family down in Ohio she accidentally found Mari crying her eyes out in the guest bathroom. There was a nasty bruise on her stomach and the skin was split open; you could see the white meat.
Jaden insisted on Mariah telling her what had happened and how she could help her, so Mari spilled everything. She didn't know why she did it at the time, she didn't even know Jaden. But something about her made her seem trustworthy.
From there on out, Jaden became the one Mariah would go to after LaMelo had done something, which is why she's sitting in Jaden's apartment right now.
Jaden- So he said he's gonna make your life a living hell? The freak does that even mean??
She was baffled he'd even say that to her friend. What type of sick man does that?
Mariah- It's code for, I'm gonna fucking kill you.
Jaden- And all this..because you a, didn't want to talk to him, and b, hung out with Josh Christopher?
Mariah nodded her head and Jaden let out a groan of disbelief. What is wrong with this nigga, she thought.
Mariah- Pretty much, and I might've threw my phone at his face.
Jaden- That's so stupid. Y'all literally aren't even together though, so why's he so pressed about what you do? He has a whole girlfriend.
Mariah- Thank you!! It's not just me who remembers this.
Jaden- Dude, you just need to like..smack him back. Stop letting him manipulate you. I know you love him but that's not healthy, at all.
Mari nodded her head, processcing everything the older girl said to her. However, Jaden knew her friend and she knew for a fact anything she told her would go in one ear and out the other.
Mariah- I know it's bad, but have you seen him? Like have you seen him shirtless?
Jaden- Yes, he's built like a noodle. Seriously, you're telling me-
She paused, unlocking her phone and scrolling deep into her camera roll to find the picture of LaMelo that Gelo once sent to her.

Jaden- You find that attractive??
MARIAH
My mouth completely dropped. I thought I'd seen ever picture of LaLiar that there was possible. Mainly because I took half of them.
Mariah- Bitch what the fuck is that?
I asked, looking closer to her phone. Once I got a better look she pulled it away from my face.
Jaden- That, my friend..is what you let hit you.
Mariah- Ain't no fuckin way that Waluigi lookin motherfucker turned into the hunk of meat every girl wants.
Jaden- Girl yes, and don't forget about this one.

She turned her phone back to me and this time I let out a gasp. I remember this fuckin photo. It still haunts me to this day.
Mariah- Bro, I took that picture.
Jaden- Oh yeah, I just know you thought he was cute then.
I scoffed, not wanting her to think that was true, even though it most definitely was.
Mariah- Noooo.
Jaden- You're a freaking liar. That's disgusting. He looks like the Alaskan bull worm from SpongeBob.
Mariah- Don't make me pull out the Gelo photos.
Jaden- You aren't gonna find a single bad one.
I mean, she had a point. Like I don't think there's any bad photos of Gelo out there, and trust me I looked.
Mariah- I'm sorry, but that man is so fine. You're hella lucky you bagged him.
Jaden- If anything, he should be lucky he got me.
She said, flipping her hair dramatically, which made me start to laugh. My laugh caused her to laugh and next thing I know, we were both dying of laughter.
