||Mariah||

I sat with Alan, just kind of venting to him about my problems with life and stuff like that. He was actually listening and giving me good advice. He was like another father figure.

Mariah- You know, I've told myself over and over that I would just be done with him. But it's something that pulls me back, and I just keep getting hurt again.

Alan- He's confused. I don't think that he knows what he's doing.

Mariah- Sure. Let's say that. He knows exactly what he's doing. He doesn't care how I feel. If he wants to be with Ashley, Who am I to stop him?

I said that, with tears in my eyes. Alan noticed and sat up looking at me with an uncertain look. I set my drink down and looked at him.

Alan- Are you saying you're giving up on him?

Mariah- If that's what it sounds like, then yes. I'm done being the rebound, Alan. I don't deserve to be treated like a toy. He's never gonna feel the way about me, like I feel about him. It's time for me to let him go.

After saying that, my heart felt heavy and a couple tears fell from my eyes.

Alan- No, Don't cry Mari. It's gonna be okay.

I don't know what this boy was doing to me, because I barely cried, and when I did, it wasn't pretty. That's how you know it's serious.

Alan just got up and hugged me. I cried into his shirt for what seemed like forever until I fell asleep. Earlier he had told me that tomorrow we were gonna watch the team practice with the new boys and Gelo.

||The Next Morning||

Honestly, When I woke up I felt like shit. My eyes were red and puffy, and my head hurt like hell. Like, Fuck. I had been up since eight and it was twelve right now.

I was laying on several chairs with my arm over my eyes. My head still hurt like hell. All the shuffling, laughter, and voices were making it so much worse.

Coach D- Let's go guys!!! Great job.

LaVar- Mari, Get up. We're having a mini meeting.

Just as I thought things could get worse, I had LaVar loud ass yelling. Luckily, I was the only one who heard him.

I was wearing my blue, red, and white BBB shirt, black ripped jeans, and my matching retros. Groaning to myself, I slowly got up and followed Alan and LaVar to another room.

LaVar- What's up with her?

Alan- Rough night. She was crying.

He had began telling him my choice with Melo and promised he wouldn't tell anybody.

LaVar- You made a good choice. If I were you, I would have left him a long time ago.

Softly smiling, I closed the door to the little cafe area that was facing the gym. A couple minutes everyone started piling in, some of the other teams were here too. It was kind of weird because I was the only girl.

Coach D- You look like hell. You straight?

Mariah- Yeah, I'm fine.

Coach D- I think you need these more than I do then. You look kinda high.

He handed me his sunglasses and I smiled at him, giving him a side hug. LaVar had started talking.

LaVar- Alright, I'm so excited that we have our teams at the strongest they could be. The playoffs are going to be great.

He went on for a little bit longer. I didn't really pay attention because I was eating my fries.

Melo- Why do you have sunglasses on, inside?

Eyes came to me, as I shoved another fry in my mouth before responding.

Mariah- So I don't have to look at your face.

A bunch of "Ooh"s emerged from the group of boys. Melo rolled his eyes and looked back at me.

Melo- Who are you talking too, Mariah?

Mariah- I believe I was talking to you, LaMelo LaFrance Ball.

Gelo- Damn Bro. You know you fucked up when she pulls the full name card.

Alan- Mari, Are you sure you want to do this? In front of everybody?

Mariah- Oh, I'm sure.

I said, going on Instagram, removing Melo's initials from my Bio, and archiving all of our posts together. I really just didn't give a fuck anymore.

LaMelo- Whatever. Do you.

He went back to talking with the boys, while I got a text from Ray's ugly ass.

Mr. Hollywood 🌟
you good right hand?

-lol yah. issa long story.

Mr. Hollywood 🌟
come outside and tell me wassup.

I put away my phone and nodded towards him. He went outside, to make sure nothing looked suspicious I waited a couple minutes until going outside myself.

There Ray was sitting on his phone.

Ray- Tell me what's up. You was acting hella shady towards him.

Mariah- I'm tired of him playing me like I'm fucking legos. Do I got Fortnite written on my forehead or something?

I said, plopping down next him and sighed. He scoffed and held in a smile.

Ray- He's just stupid. But if you done with him, I support you.
