It had been hours since we arrived at the place where we were staying. Sophia and I had checked the lake out, and it was really beautiful and surprisingly big. I hadn't had much time to hang out with Ryder and hadn't seen him around either. I exited the bedroom we girls were sharing, and slowly walked down the hall.

I saw Victor and his girlfriend leaning up against one of the doors. He was yelling at her, she was rolling her eyes at him. Suddenly he caught my eyes and stopped speaking. I turned around again and walked away. I didn't want to be involved in their relationship drama.

I walked into the dining room. The teachers were sitting there and having conversations while drinking their daily coffee. I didn't know we already had given them a headache. Mrs. Dunn caught my eye, as she winked at me and waved her hand. I smiled as the other teachers noticed me being there as well. "What's up, darling?" She asked me. I shrugged and shook my head.

"Nothing, nothing," I said and smiled. "Have you checked the lake out?" Mrs. Dunn questioned and smiled.

"Yup. Pretty big, I'm impressed." I answered. She giggled and stuck her arms out for me. I smiled and walked closer, hugging her tightly.

"I'm glad you like it. Many people were complaining about it." She sighed and stroked my hair. She smells so good. She always does.

"Like who?" I asked. I was curious and wanted some names, I haven't heard anyone complain.
"You've always been so nosey—" she cut herself off due to her phone ringing on the table.

I pulled away from her and watched her grab her phone, clicking on it and then putting it up to her ear. "I'll be back in five." She said as she walked past me and put a hand on my shoulder, giving it a nice and comforting squeeze. She always does that when walking by me, like in the school hallways.

I stood there awkwardly next to the table where the teachers stood and watched them have a conversation like normal people. Sometimes it's weird imagining teachers do normal things like normal people. We're used to seeing them teach us every day and that only, not seeing them grocery shopping with their children or out on a date with their friends or tinder dates.

"Are you okay?" Mrs. Gomes asked, taking a sip of her coffee from the mug she was holding. I nodded quickly and moved out of the dining room. I could feel that I didn't want to be in the room I shared with the girls right now, it's noisy and messy. God, I hate messy rooms.

I hate it even more when people don't clean their mess up and I have to do it for them. I used to do it all the time for Hailey, and I never got thanks for it. When she used to live at home, she used to text me and tell me to clean her room because she was coming home with her friends. If I didn't, there would be some consequences.

Sometimes it would get physical.

I went out to the lake and sat down on the dock bridge made of wood, and sat on the end of it while staring at my shoes being close to the water. My phone got a message, so I picked it up from my back pocket and saw that Jasmine had texted me. I read the messages and smiled.

Jasmine : WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU??!!!

Jasmine : I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR YOU EVERYWHERE

Me : Jeez. I've been away for five minutes and you're already dying to see me again?

Me : I'm at the lake.
