Isabella Evergreen

Isabella fell to her knees as tears came out of her eyes. Her cell phone came out of her grasp and the glass shattered into millions of pieces on the floor. But she didn't care. Because Isabella was in pieces too. Her insides shattered into millions of pieces at those four words her mother said to her over the phone. "Your father is dead."

She couldn't believe it. Her father is dead. The man who hurt her into pieces was dead. She was supposed to be relieved. Not broken more than she already was.

She was supposed to be happy. Happy that the abuse would be gone and no way for her to be hurt by him again. But she's sad. Broken, that her father is dead.

Theodore came rushing into the room and saw her. Isabella was now sobbing. "He's dead." she managed to say through the sobs. "My d- my dad is dead."

Theodore sat next to her and held her. She was sobbing into his shoulder as he rubs her back, trying to comfort her. "I'm so sorry." he whispered loud enough for her to hear.
