As he shuts the door for me I can't help but check him out as he walks over to his side. The way his black shirt hugs around his muscles makes me genuinely believe it was made solely for him, his dark faint curls frame his features in a way that's beyond words of description, his tanned skin practically glistens in the sun and that smile of his .... yeah, a recipe for an inevitable disaster.

"Seatbelt" he say say, finally getting into the car.

"So demanding" every sentence of his always ends in some sort of demand. I could sit here and tell you that it doesn't wanna make me cross my legs over and check in with my pulse but that would be the very definition of bullshit. The seat belt clicks into place and I sit back as he starts up the car, if this were night time it would've woken up an entire neighborhood with how loud the exhaust is.

"Good girl" his arms tighten around the steering wheel as he drives us out of the drive way, but my focus isn't on earth right now. My hormones betray me as the heat between my legs grows at his words making me remember exactly what happened yesterday night.

"You okay there love" he looks to my side smiling.

"Yuuup" I don't look at him though mostly because I fear I can't hide the thoughts that are currently spiralling without my control. Plus, he has this way of reading me.

The gates open and he wastes no time in speeding out. Donte was always into cars and overtime I became more interested in them too, I wonder if he knew Nicholas owned so many, actually I wonder if they're even close to begin with. He stretches his arm over to the radio turning on his playlist.

I love this song.

"What's on your mind" he asks just as I was wondering.

"You and Donte, are you close?" I watch him carefully as I ask him this. As I said, I'm pretty good at reading people but if Donte is hard to read I imagine that Nicholas is even worse. He sucks in a long breath and doesn't answer for a minute making me think he's going to lie.

"No" he answers honestly.

Well that's not what I was expecting.

"I know you want to ask me more than just that" he smirks keeping his eyes on the empty road ahead.

"Nope" I lie.

"Is that so"

"Mhm" I close my eyes as the wind blows through my hair sending goose bumps across my skin.

He moves his hand off the control stick before setting it on my thigh. I open my eyes fast trying to make sense of his action but also my own because what I want to do is breath out heavily, maybe even chuckle and do something that will lead us both to another mistake. However, I'm trying to learn not to fall for him so damn easily, so with that I squeeze by crossed legs a little closer to lessen the need for him but he smirks, setting his hand higher so I can't get that bit of relief.

"It's not good to lie Mia"

"You know what I've notices about you" I say licking my lips before focusing on the road because one more second I'm pulling this car over myself "you love to be in control"

"And you see this as a bad thing?"

"No but it must get boring"

"There's nothing boring about control Mia" he begins rubbing slow circles on my skin "each situation needs control otherwise there's no stability"

"So you're like a control freak?"

"No" he laughs making me smile from just the sound "switch the gear for me love" smiling I reach over switching the gear as he hasn't removed his hand.

"How about you?"

"Do I like control?"

"Yeah"

"Never really thought about it like that. I mean yeah sure in some situation you kinda need it but I'm more of a 'whatever happens, happens' kinda person so I don't know"

"And that doesn't scare you?"

"No not really, trying to control something incontrollable is a waste of time"

"Not in my books"

"Well that's because you always manage to control everything you've ever wanted" I smile over to him finding his lips already in a grin. I change the gear again but just before I could say something else the sound a text takes us both my surprise, it's his phone.

"Could you get that"

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, go ahead"

I lean forward taking the phone of the dash board. The screen lights up with the message but it doesn't make sense.

unknown - unresponsive.

"What's it say?"

"Unresponsive?" I look up from the phone to see him freeze for a moment but that soon passes as his jaw locks and his eyes turn dark.

"What's wrong?"

"Fuck" he says through his teeth, his hand on the wheel turns white from the amount of force he's gripping it with "I told him it was a bad idea"

"Nicholas what's going on"

"Its Max, he might be dead" I grip onto the door handle as he spins the car around speeding back the way we just came from "I'll drop you back but promise me you'll fucking be there when I get back" his eyes stay on mine not paying a single care in the world on the road ahead.

"What, fuck no I'm going with you, there's no way I'm just going to sit back whilst Max is in trouble "

"Yeah that's not happening Mia"

"Oh but it so is" I'm yelling now because he's acting like I'm some fragile thing.

"Mi-"

"The more you talk the less time we have now fucking drive!"

He doesn't say anything at first, he just tightens his grip on me. His silence says it all, he's more than just angry at me but he also knows I'm right and that's why he's changed lanes heading to fuck knows where.
