-Max-

As I step out the elevator I begin to make my way to Banes office, he's been avoiding everyone since that night. No one has actually heard him say more than 5 words and he's back to being his broody self, now that I think about it since Mia came around he's been a lot more tolerable, and there was definitely less body's to clean up after. I can't blame him though, I understand he's pissed of at the world right now but with Donte coming back, there's just no time to be arguing with one another.

The closer I get the louder the muffled voices pour out and just like that it's followed by a sound I know too well, a gunshot. I walk in not bothering to knock and find one of our guys dead on the floor by his desk. The blood soon creates a puddle that is moving closer and closer towards my feet.

"Bane" I greet before stepping slightly to my left.

"Max" he takes a seat in his chair pouring a drink, he looks at me if I want one but I decline. I'm on heavy meds so sadly no alcohol for me "so, what have you been up to then"

"Cut the bullshit, also replace 15 men and get the cars round in an hour" he downs the whole glass in one swift chug.

"Bane"

"What" he's got that death glare going but I know it's not for me, well at least I hope not.

"Should I tell Mia about Donte?" mentioning her name seemed to have no affect on him whatsoever but the pause in the room says a whole different story.

"No"

"She'll be pissed if she finds out we didn't tell her about him coming back"

"I dont care about how she feels Max so stop mentioning her around me. It's annoying enough having to see her everywhere I don't need you on top of it all reminding she's still here" he sighs running his hand across his face.

"Bane I've known you since we were kids the least you can do is not lie to me"

"I'm not"

We stare at each other for a moment and I want to say more but he's stubborn, he always has been so trying to convince him to talk to her is useless.

"Okay then, I'll have the car ready in an hour" I sigh pressing my lips together "and I'll have more men in a couple of minutes"

He nods looking away getting lost in whatever he's thinking about, as I go to leave however he says my name making me turn back, he looks defeated.

"I don't know what to do Max" he shakes his head and for the first time ever he looks normal, just a normal guy having relationship issues.

"If it helps in any way she's thinking about you too, but you need to understand that what she needs right now isn't distraction"

"Max the last thing I'll ever do is get in her way, I want to help her, give her everything she needs to finish this thing once and for all. All she has to do is name it, name her needs and it's all hers, anything" he sighs breathless, meaning all that he said and I know he's not lying. I can see it in him, he loves her.

"I'll talk to her when we get back alright?"

He nods, giving up for a moment as he sinks deeper into his chair and I take my leave. These two are so similar in way too many ways so how can they not see it, how could they possibly miss the fact that they're better together than apart. I pull out my phone clicking on a contact I've spoken to more than a few times "hey yeah it's me again ... I know we just ordered from you but any chance you have twenty men ready by an hour?" He chuckles over the phone but ultimately agrees, he knows we're good for the business so he doesn't complain when Bane takes out more than half of his men.
