-Max-
"Max, Max come in" my ear piece crackles as a voice comes through and I turn over to their table before answering the damn thing, after clearing their surroundings I respond.
"I'm listening"
"Sir Donte has arrived as is walking through, waiting for your word, on standby, over"
"Copy"
Mia laughs at something Bane has just said making me ignore the fact I should be greeting Donte but she has that effect on people. You can't help but be drawn to her, and once you get to know her you're practically obsessed. Donte steps through the doors and from the corner of my eyes I catch onto his long strides that reek of overthinking, someone's nervous.
I push down into my ear price hearing the click of the static swarm my mind "take position at the back, the rest of you remain at the front and I want all eyes on all roads, over"
"Copy that sir on it"
"Have they ordered?" Donte asks out a breath.
"No"
"Good, we won't be staying here for long anyways" he sits down at the mini bar pouring himself a drink staring at Bane and Mia. I walk over putting my gun to the side taking a seat closely by.
"Look at them" he says with a slight chuckle that quickly turns into a glare "they're a walking disaster"
That's harsh, especially when he's saying it towards Mia.
"They're in love and it's only going to end in a tragedy" a sharp hiss surpasses his wet lips after the quick chug of the dark whiskey he just downed in one go. I stay quiet trying my best to be professional, but with every glare I find myself straining my jaw like never before, if I bite down any harder I'm afraid I'll accidentally bite off my own tongue.
With a shake of my head I rid myself of thoughts that will definitely not serve anyone any good. I have to remember what Mia asked of me "but they hate each other" I might just shoot myself so he doesn't have to, I just lied to his face, the good news is at least I won't have to deal with sappy funerals because I'll probably just get buried under a random highway.
He laughs out loud. I'm so dead.
"No, they don't and the annoying part is a fucking blind person could see it"
I meet his gaze and as I do Mia spots the both of us, with a quick glance down Bane seems to catch on right away because he too bows his head, more so in annoyance I bet, Mia sits back creating the space they were so fast in closing the second they sat down all because of a man with a tantrum issue.
"Is it-" I begin only to stop, I'm pushing my luck here and the annoying thing is I don't care in the slightest.
He glances over at me "what, is it what?" When I don't speak he stands with an annoyed sigh of heavy air turning his back to the both of them and nods "is it so bad that they might be in love? Yes. You know only a part of him, I've known him through every faze that boy went through, he's not capable of it, he'll crawl looking for the hows and come to find that the answer was always rather simple. He was never made to love or ever be loved, and that poor girl will be the one to pay that price. Don't look at me like that boy, you know I'm telling the truth, you can sit there and judge me all you like, fine, good, but if you truly care, if you have any ounce of humanity left in you to feel the littlest bit of compassion, warn her. Warn her before it's all too late" he says nothing more and nothing less, simply drains himself of the heaviness he just bore on his aged face and strides over to the table that's gone awfully silent.
