Danielle's POV

February 19th

Today was finally the day, the day I would be seeing my favourite band live for the first time. Green Day was one of my favourite bands and I had been too broke to go to any of their other shows here.

I live in Baltimore, MD. I moved here from Toronto when I was 20 because of new job opportunities. I spent all of my money on concerts but it was all worth it. I'm now living alone at the age of 23.

Another reason I moved here is because my parents had kicked me out of the house and I needed  someone to trust, to become friends with. I wanted to start over. Back in Toronto, things weren't going so well with my family. Another reason why I'm broke. I spent most of my money on the plane ticket here and a small house. I finally saved up enough money to buy myself Green Day tickets.

I still couldn't believe it. I had just gotten out of the shower. I pulled on a pair of white skinny jeans and a Green Day shirt my friend bought me way back when and straightened my hair. I put on a bit of makeup and slipped on my bracelets. I sighed and grabbed the tickets and headed out the door and went to the concert.

Once Green Day had gotten on stage, I forgot about everything else; all of my problems, my parents, everything. I felt a sense of happiness for once.

After the show, I stepped outside and felt a cold breeze. So I guess I forgot my sweater, but either way this night was without a doubt the best day ever and nothing could ruin it. Or so I thought. I jolted forward and fell to the wet, cold cement. My pants ripped at the knee, I felt the palms of my hands begin to bleed.

"I'm so sorry I didn't see you there! Are you ok?!" said a man.

"Um it's ok, I might be fine," I replied, hesitant.

"Let me help you up."

As he said, he lifted me up and placed me on my feet again. I felt weak.

"T-t-thanks," I stuttered, looking up at the man.

He had gorgeous, brown eyes and brown hair that looked like it was held up with tons of hairspray. He was tall and looked about 24-25. He was beautiful. Our eyes locked for a second and I looked away.

"Were you just at that show?" I asked, already knowing the answer to that question.

"Um yeah and I'm guessing you were too," he said sounding almost upset. "I'm sorry about your pants and knees, can I make it up to you? I'm Alex by the way."

I looked down at my scraped knees and my jeans that were now mud-stained and ripped.

"Danielle, and no I think I'll be fine, thanks," I replied biting my lip.

"Come," he said showing me to his car. I got kind of scared. "I don't bite, it's ok, trust me," he laughed. He had a cute laugh, it was almost contagious.

I did as he said and got into the car. We were in the car driving for about 15 minutes before he stopped the car in front of a house which I assumed was his. He let me out of the car and led me to the house. It was huge.

"You can crash here if you want to tonight but I'll give you a pair of clean and dry pants. You can wash up in the washroom or you can take the pants and I'll take you home. I just want you to be dry on the way home."

I honestly had nothing else to do tomorrow so I decided to stay at his place. How bad could he be? I trusted him a lot for someone who I had just met. I didn't know what it was, but I felt like I've known him for ages.

"So, how old are you Danielle?"

"I'm 23 and you?" I said taking a seat on the couch with the pants Alex gave me.
