A Love Like War

The next couple of months went by too quickly. Alex and I finished the room and I was due soon. Jenn, Cass and I went to say bye to the guys at the airport before they left. I said bye to the guys then went to say bye to Alex but before I could go, someone grabbed hold of my arm. I turned around and saw Zack looking down at me. "Look, I know I yelled at you a few months back and I never said sorry properly. I was just a bit shocked and I wanted the best for you. I care about you and it would be wrong if I said I loved you because you're marrying my best friend. I'm really sorry, I was just being protective when I knew I shouldn't have because I know Alex will be a great husband, a great dad, and a better best friend for your son. We won't be there when your son is born but I'm hoping for the best for you and your future family and I truly am sorry. I hope you won't leave me out of his life." I could see tears welling up in his eyes and knew it came from his heart. I didn't know what else to do but give him a long hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"Thank you. I just don't know what to say other than the fact that Alex and I want you in the baby's life. Have a great time on tour and I'll see you when you get back." I smiled at him and proceeded to Alex. 

"I'll miss you babe. I'll see you and our son when I get back in two months. FaceTime me when he's born, okay?" He smiled and gave me a kiss and long hug. I never wanted to let go but their flight left in a few hours and they still had to go through security. I gave him a final hug and watched as he walked away with the guys.

Cass and Jenn offered to stay at my house to help out until Alex got back. We all went to my house but I already felt drained from walking around. It was getting harder to walk around now that the baby was due next month and I was gigantic. I took a nap as soon as we got back. When I woke up, I found it was 6 PM and Jenn and Cass already made a healthy dinner since they insisted everything I ate from now on would have to be healthy. We settled down after dinner and I told them what Zack said at the airport. 

"You know, he loved you the minute he set eyes on you. He told me everything. You were really special to him. He also said that he wanted to be part of the child's life as much as possible but that you would never forgive him," said Cass.

"I never knew to be honest. I told him that I would love for him to be part of the child's life but I didn't say much after." We sat around and talked all night until I couldn't bear to keep my eyes open any longer. I said goodnight and went upstairs and immediately fell asleep. I couldn't wait for the baby come because I didn't know how much longer I could handle it.

I woke up at 3 am swimming in a puddle of water with extreme pains. I screamed for help but wasn't sure if anyone would hear me. I tried to get up but the pain was unbearable. At this point, I knew it was time. I screamed louder until Jenn came running into the room. "Holy crap... it's happening. Calm down, it's okay, we're going to take you to the hospital. CASS. Come let's try to get you to the car. CASS GET UP." 

Cassadee came running into the room and saw what was happening. With Jenn's help, they carried me down the stairs and to the car. They rushed to the hospital while Cass was in the front calling the guys. 

"RIAN?"

"Ya what's wrong babe?"

"It's happening, she's in labour, we're driving her to the hospital now. Tell Alex." 

"Ok but I thought she wasn't due for another month?" 

"That's what we thought. Just tell Alex please I need to go, we're at the hospital ok? DON'T forget to tell him ok? Bye" She hung up without waiting for a reply. They got a wheelchair and rushed me in. They took me in immediately. The next few hours were going to feel like a living hell.
