so, I don't have ADHD, or anything related to it, but my boyfriend does, and he has many particular mannerisms and habits that a lot of people usually dont. so, here's some tips for writing these types of characters.

firstly, ADHD stands for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. ADD is also a term used for people with this, and it just stands for attention deficit disorder.

1) for one, people with ADHD forget things all the time. like, they forget their wallet, their phone, something that's easy to carry and usually very important. they forget dates, like birthdays of their loved ones. They forget what they were saying a few minutes ago before being interrupted. It's very easy for people with ADHD to forget something.

2) they get distracted so easily. for example, while me and my boyfriend were doing long distance for two and a half years, we had to find creative ways to talk to each other but do more than just talk. so, we would stream video games on youtube. this was very difficult for my boyfriend bc he'd get so distracted by the game, that when I'd talk, he would totally forget that I even said anything. which never bothered me, I knew how hard it was for him.

3) people with ADHD are squirmy, impulsive, can't keep their hands still, they always have to be moving. They're usually bursting with energy and they're highly impatient. They get frustrated easy when it comes to waiting or being patient.

4) they fail to give close attention to details, or makes careless mistakes, they have difficulty sustaining attention, they don't seem to listen when spoken to, they usually don't follow through on instructions and fails to finish projects, they have difficulty organizing tasks and activities.

Hopefully this helped!
