Xiao POV
He had sped through Liyue, checking for anything un-ordinary. Had found nothing, except a very tense atmosphere and abandoned streets. Wait a minute though.... Where was Lumine? He didn't think she would cower in a home, and yet, he didn't see a single sign of her anywhere. He wanted to make sure she was safe, especially as he felt... something big stirring. Something he couldn't put his finger on, but had sensed a long while ago.
He called upon his anemo vision, hearing the things the wind had heard.
A bit of a fix...
Need to go...
To avoid an explosion...
Find the fuse...
It is up to us...
The Exuvia...
The Golden House...
That was where his thoughts stopped persistently. The Golden House. Which meant that Lumine was in the Golden House. Without hesitation, he sped through the roads in a blur of jade green.
Lumine POV
"Don't you dare lay your filthy traitorous hands on the Exuvia!" She snarled.
How it all had come up to this, she did not know. But she had immediately known that Childe was the driving force behind the fatui. And the Fatui were behind this whole huge fiasco. And here she was, trying to prevent the 11th Fatui Harbinger from getting Rex Lapis's Gnosis.
"Ahaha girlie, so is it a battle you want? Then a battle is what you'll get."
His bow appeared in his hands, as his Hydro vision glowed. She snorted. Water wouldn't be any use against her, she was 100% immune. Her usual Favonius sword appeared in her hands. For a moment, they were both still.
Then chaos reigned.
He continuously shot arrows made of water towards her, but she efficiently dodged them with grace and ease, launching counter-attacks of her own. She easily slashed at him: she preferred melee over ranged. He threw his hands forward, causing her to move back. A sphere of water surrounded him, until it disappeared to reveal him again, but now with his delusion. She simply smiled. This was too easy.
She rose into the air, unleashing a tornado that got infused with electro While he was caught up in it, she added water to mix, causing Electro-charged reactions. He snapped out of it pretty quickly though. He sent waves of electro towards him, which she blocked with a rock. He seemed to think she had been pushed into the defensive, so she suppressed a smirk, continuing to block his attacks. Then suddenly she sped forward, having infused herself with electro and anemo. Once again, she relentlessly slashed at him, until once again she was thrown back by him.
This was boring. And repetitive.
Childe sped towards the Exuvia, only to be intercepted by Lumine. The bow in his hands was replaced by two melee blades, one of which he stabbed towards Lumine's right. She easily blocked it. Only to be thrown back by the other. A feint.
'WHAT? HOW COULD I HAVE NOT SEEN THAT COMING! I HAVE BEEN TRAINED IN FEINTS!' She thought furiously. Never mind that now, there was a bigger problem. Childe had plunged his hand into the Exuvia. As she raced towards him, he removed his hand. Empty-handed.
