A/N:
I might as well just make the POV's their name

just like the books it'll only be 'Tris' and 'Tobias' instead of 'TRIS POV:' and 'TOBIAS POV:' I'm just saying this to prevent any confusion.

Ephemeral
noun • lasting for a very short period of time

Tris

I lean against the wall with my arms crossed.

What are they talking about?
What if she really isn't his sister?
What if she came here from the Bureau to spy on us?

I stop myself from asking more series of questions.

The door opens and I see Meredith.

"Sorry for the long wait. I hope it's okay with you." I straighten my back. She looks concerned.

"You don't need to be shy around me," I smile. "it's fine."

She nods and grins then walks away.

I enter the room and see Tobias sitting on the couch with his arms crossed, looking down at his feet.

"Tobias?" I ask. "You alright?"

"Yeah. I'm fine, just tired." He replies, finally casting his eyes on me.

"You sure?" I insist. "You can tell me."

"Tris I'm okay." His voice changes to a stern tone. "I'm just trying to adapt to the brother-sister thing."

I walk over to the couch and sit beside him. "You'll get used to it."

He looks at me and presses his lips with mine. It's been a long time since we've kissed. I wish this could last forever, it seems like it can, but it turns out that it's just ephemeral.
