With his approval for my new idea, I turned around and turned the water on, using my hand to gauge the temperature. Both of us like hot showers but if we're gonna be sitting in the jacuzzi tub I don't feel like burning a layer of skin off. When I felt it was at a suitable temperature I turned back to Dex. He was just standing there watching me with a funny look on his face.
"Babe, what's wrong? Are you okay?" I asked.
"Hmm ... yes, I'm ... give me a second." he said, walking out of the bathroom.
I don't know why he's so jumpy, it's kind of very funny since he's always so damn serious. He's acting so weird and it's not normal, so I sat on the side of the tub and waited for him to come back in. He was muttering to himself in the room, I don't know what's going on but when he came back into the bathroom there was a nervous smile on his face.
"Babe, what's going on?" I chuckled.
"I wanted to do this differently, something romantic and sweet but standing here watching you I realized that this is all that I need as well." he said, pulling me into the room and making me sit down on the edge of the bed.
"Dex . . ."
"No, I hadn't realized how dark my life had gotten until you came back into it. You brought the light back to my life and I can't be any more grateful. I love you, Kaylee, I will put my life on the line for you time and time again if need be. Kay, I want you to be the only woman I call my wife for the rest of my days." he said.
"Deckard . . ." I whispered.
"No, you call me Dex. For you, I will always be Dex and you will always be the love of my life."
I know what this is and even knowing the nerves are getting the best of me. He grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the bedroom, over to the big living room area. Positioning both of us directly in the middle he got down on one knee.
"Dex . . ."
"I'm going to keep interrupting you until I finish. I've done this once already and it fell apart, I promise you Kaylee that I will do everything in my power to make sure this works. You dug a hole in my heart when we met all of those years ago and now we get a second chance. This time we can enjoy our adventures with no lies between us, only the truth and that'll be what we make of it.
My heart belongs to you and I think it always has, it's why no other relationship ever worked. It was waiting for you to reappear in my life and take over the same way you did before. I promise you that I will make you the happiest woman alive Kaylee, I'll piss you off and annoy you but I will make you happy. I will love you till the end of my days and treasure every moment by your side. Please, say you'll be my wife." he said, pulling a small dark blue box out of his pocket.
When he cracked the box open a gasp was the only noise I was capable of making. A beautiful rose gold band sat inside of the velvet-lined box with a dark blue stone in the center and some lighter blue stones surrounding the main one, forming a flower. There were small rose gold dots in between the "petals", making a beautiful looking ring all around.
