Freya thought over her brother's words and it made perfect sense. God was punishing them like he did their uncles, but why. "I don't get it. He didn't involve himself with mom or dad's relationship, so why us?" Freya spoke up lost in thought.

"I don't know the details behind it and we'll have to talk to grandfather for more information, but I know it's him and he's got a plan behind it all." Aslan nodded her head in agreement with Seth making sure to avoid looking at Jonah.

"We're not mates because of your fucking family drama, Aslan. We're mated because we belong together. Fate made sure of that. I'm sorry for you Monique. I really am." Jonah said to the crestfallen angel. "I can't even imagine what it would feel like to have to love Aslan from a far, but I think maybe the issue is just between you three and not the rest of us."

Seth scoffed. "If you think Freya's not being punished by being stuck with that emotionless piece of shit and Aslan isn't being reprimanded by being bound to your abusive ass then you're a bigger dumbass than I thought."

"Seth. Don't." Aslan spoke up before looking around. "We obviously have a lot that we need to work out with our mates and as a whole if my great-grandfather is involved. I think we should all go to our house and see if our parents can help first." Aslan said grabbing her bag. "Do you think that's a good idea?" Jonah asked scratching the back of his head.

"Oh, yes, please. I want to see Daddy Dub beat you up again." Max said happily causing Jonah to groan and Seth to snicker. "What did I tell you about referring to my father as Daddy." Seth said squeezing Max's throat. "You going to punish me." Max winked causing Seth to bite his lip.

The whole interaction set Monique's body a blaze. The moment her arousal hit them they turned to face her. Her eyes widened like the kid who was just caught stealing and looked down. "You freaks can have your alone time later. Right now, we have things to handle." Freya spoke up.

"You'll be fine, Jonah. This trumps my fathers' hatred for you at the moment." Aslan grabbed Jonah's hand and gave him a small smile. She knew her touch would calm him and the way his eyes changed color in and out let her know both he and his wolf were better. "Let's go and before you can say shit, you're coming Philip." Aslan barked.

Seth waved his hand and the group found themselves in an expansive living room. Wes, Damien, Val and Harlow sat on the couch looking at the new faces in front of them. "Kids, if you were going to have company over you could've warned us." Harlow said with a tight smile.

They knew better than to spring new people on a Black mom without background information and ensuring the house was spotless, but desperate times and all that.

"Mama, sorry, but a lot is happening and we need your help." Freya blurted and her parents took in her somewhat frazzled state. Seth did a quick recap while moving everyone around to be near their mates for clarification. Lazlo took a seat on a nearby sofa staring at Val the whole time in awe. He had never met the vampire King and was in shock that he was in his home.

"So, yeah. This is where we're at and I think God is behind the entire clusterfuck." Seth said taking a breath. "Whew chile." Alistair said out of nowhere before jumping on the coffee table. Jonah jumped clearly never seeing a familiar before and Aslan smiled at him before squeezing his hand.

"This is a lot, kids. I'll go talk to the big man myself in a few, but first." Harlow said getting up. "Welcome to the family," she said pulling Monique into a warm embrace.

Monique melted into her arms with a wide smile on her face and the act warmed Seth completely. It was the same feeling he had when his mom hugged Max and welcomed him. "We're going to figure this out, sweetie. You will get the love story you want and deserve." It was apparent that her words hit Monique right in the feels because her eyes teared up.
