Sade stood against the wall in the corner looking down at her family. It was Miles and her 19th birthday and her great-grandfather demanded they do it up in style.
She loved coming to hell. It was beautiful and unlike anything she ever imagined. She had been going since she could remember and every time her breath was stolen. The fact that she was the only mortal in the underworld was not lost on her.
They found themselves coming down to hell as a family after her 6th birthday. Her grandmother, Harlow, was able to spell the angels of the family that were not related to Lucifer so that everyone could make the family trips. Miles, Alistair and her mother, Monique were beyond thrilled to join the DeVille's and other Draven family members to the underworld.
Sade wanted to explore hell in all its depths as she got older, but her fathers were beyond protective. She knew why. She knew the story. She knew she died and thanks to her godfather she was alive to see another day and in his words be the baddest bitch anyone has seen thus far.
"What are you thinking about?" Lorelei said in a sing-song voice as she hid with her cousin. "Nothing." Lorelei looked at her cousin with an expression that reminded Sade of her abilities. "I don't know why you want to be supernatural so bad. It sucks. You're special just the way you are." Lorelei said with a hug causing Sade to sigh.
She looked at her cousin in all her glory and couldn't help but smile. The daughter of Pride was gorgeous with blue eyes that matched her father's perfectly. Lorelei was not prideful whatsoever, but she made sure to manipulate situations that caused others to exude the sin and fed accordingly.
"What are you bitches hiding up here for?" Raven called out loudly. "Shhh! I don't want anyone knowing I'm missing." Sade snapped causing the daughter of Greed to roll her eyes. "Why do you do this at every function?" Sade shook her head. "Not every function. Just the ones that great-grandfather feels the need to invite every demon to."
Raven sighed as she pulled her cousin into a side hug. "You're a Draven, Sade. Why can't you see that? You belong here just as much as any of us do." She gave her a squeeze and smiled.
"She probably can't see it because she's mortal and doesn't feel like she would ever fit in." Delilah said with a plate of food in her hands. "Shut up, Lilah!" Keres spoke up.
As the daughter of Envy, Keres knew that her sister was a bit envious of what Sade had. In reality, they all were envious. "Cousin, this is your party. You should be out there mingling and dancing."
Sade shook her head at them. "I don't like crowds and what interesting thing could I possibly say to demons." Mara sucked her teeth. "No one here is lustful. I'm hungry." She pouted as Delilah held out a slider to her.
"You losers better get downstairs. Seth is about to lose it. He's been looking for Sade for the past ten minutes." Fury chuckled having her full of her cousin's rage.
"Shit. You know how mad he gets when he can't find your ass." Delilah sucked her teeth before taking a bite of a lemon pepper wing. "This is so ghetto," Raven said before walking down the stairs.
Sade followed the girls down the stairs and walked to her fathers. "I'm here. I'm safe." She muttered as they pulled her into a hug. "Where were you? Why did you leave the party?" Seth asked worriedly. "I didn't. I was just upstairs with Emerys." Sade lied.
Seth tried to read her, but Sade was singing the classic Beyonce hit to evade her father. "I'm fine, Dad." She said to Seth. "Papa, I'm good." She smiled at Max. "Go mingle, sweetheart. This is your party." She nodded her head Max as she made her way to the food and drinks.
"There's my favorite niglet." Alistair said from the stool he was perched on. Sade giggled at her godfather. "Why so down?" Sade shrugged her shoulder as she took a seat by him. He was always able to read her. "When I was younger, I loved being a part of a supernatural family. I knew my family was special and had all of these powers that defined them."
