It has been a week since we arrived in this place. From the scenery alone, I could tell that we weren't in Japan anymore. With the way it felt, I don't think we were in the same world. I glanced to the jewel around my neck as the children and I ventured into the forest. I had a feeling that we were forced into this world because of it. I knew Sesshomaru was somewhere in this world but I couldn't pinpoint him thanks to his mark that I bared on my right shoulder.
Right now the children were riding on my back, holding my weapons and bag with them. I wasn't sure how I was able to transform into a gaint black dog. Something changed within me when we were sent here.
"Momma, I'm getting hungry." Rin whined from on top of me. Shippo groaned in agreement.
I sighed as I looked around. I knew I needed to hunt but there was nowhere I could leave the children safe. My eyes found a berry bush. I lowered my head and took a sniff. I noticed it looked like blueberries but I wasn't sure if it was. I took a small bite of them, the familiar tart flavor erupted in my mouth. I waited a moment to see of it was poisonous. When nothing happened, I lowered my body and the children slid off. They smiled happily and ran to the bushes.
They greedily ate the ripe berries while I laid down beside them, keeping an eye out for any potential predators. They happily sipped at the water jug from inside my bag as they nibbled. I could see them start to get full after eating for ten minutes straight.
They were slowly falling asleep when I heard a snap not too far from us. My head shot to the direction of the noise. I growled when my eyes landed on a pack of hungry wolves. Rin and Shippo came to life when they heard me growl. They held tightly onto our belongings as they huddled close together. I could smell Rin's fear permeate the air, reminding me that she was previously killed by a pack of wolves.
I stood up, guarding my children from the incoming threat. A couple of wolves charged at me, howling. I swiped at the wolves, making them fly through the air. Some hit a tree, a sickening crunch as they hit. The bodies slid down, dead. Rin screamed, catching my attention. A wolf was going after her. I went to attack the wolf when a leopard jumped out of the tree and tackled the wolf to the ground. Then it proceeded to attack the wolves. After it bit one of the wolves necks out, it roared at the remaining members. The wolves whined and ran away. My eyes solely focused on the leopard as I put my kids underneath me. They held onto one of my legs as they looked at the leopard.
"Momma, I don't think this leopard is hostile." Rin said as she looked at me. I saw the leopard flinch before I glanced down at her. I lowered my head, looking at her.
"Are you sure?" I asked.
"I'm positive." Rin nodded. She was had acute senses to this kind of thing thanks to being around Sesshomaru all the time. I shifted back into my human skin, my kimono flowing out around me before settling down on the ground. Shippo and Rin held onto me as we all looked towards the leopard. It walked up to us, slowly morphing into a man before us.
A naked man was standing there on all fours. I covered Rin's eyes, which made her giggle. I cleared my throat as I glanced away from him. I looked at him. He had shoulder length wavy blonde hair. Two leopard ears poked out from under his hair and a cute matching tail wagged in happiness. I noticed that his ass still had some spots on it from his fur. His golden eyes looked over me, sizing me up while he gave me a fanged smile. Two scratch like markings were on his left cheek. The only article of clothing he had was a necklace with a red gem hanging from it shaped as a claw. He was awfully thin but had a good body structure.
