Everyone was completely happy to know that metal would possibly be made here. But what really brought everyone's happiness was the Mont Blanc I made. I even shared some dinner and a piece of the tart to the snow leopard who saved me. His shock went across his face before he devoured everything in sight. I smiled at his behavior.
The next day, we ate out of the porcelain dishes and everyone loved their new dishes. It was also easier to clean after eating. Winston, Sesshomaru, Parker and Muir went out to find some ore for the metal. They came back a few hours later with several sacks of rocks. I walked over to them after I fed the girls and looked through the rocks brought back.
There were various types of rocks in all different sizes. Some were round while some were square. I never seen a square rock that was naturally made that way. Learned something new everyday. As I lifted each rock, they were were incredibly heavy, telling me that their densities were high.
Using the luminous peral lamps, I held the rocks under the light. I used the light to find any indistinct metallic luster in the rocks. It made me wonder if these rocks did contain metal though.
"I had the clansmen help with the search. I asked them to look for heavy rocks, after which I selected from what they found. All these rocks contains the scent of something like metal." Winston told me.
Sesshomaru came over and knelt down beside me. He smiled at me as he held my hand. He then picked up a spiky rock and looked at it.
"I'm sure this one might contain metal. But even if this one doesn't have metal, it might be even something tougher. We can let Totosai be the judge of that."
I gently took it from his hands and carefully looked at it. It was surrounded by asparagus like sharp spikes, so it made me wonder how someone try to force it apart. I was glad for whoever did because I was able to see inside of it. There was a dense, multifaceted object that appeared transparent underneath this light. I smudged the transparent rock's surface with my finger but it got stained with an oily glow. I gasped as I tried to wipe it clean but it was a fruitless endeavor.
"Is this metal or is it jade?" I mumbled to myself.
"Crush it and you'll find out." Parker stated as he took the rock from my hands.
"Don't!" I yelled but it was too late.
BAM!
The rock was smashed into smithereens. I groaned as I watched Parker removed the rock. The coarse shell of the rock was crushed into many pieces, but the transparent interior was unscathed and only broke into six uniformly facets. They were also the size of quail eggs.
"Thank goodness it's not smashed. You gave me a heart attack." I growled. But the daft leopard didn't even listen.
BAM!
He smashed at the transparent rock ferociously once more. Without the exterior, I was afraid that the crystal would break. He landed a very heavy solid hit on the rock, making the rock tremble a bit.
"I told you to stop hitting it! Are you bent on damaging the rock?" I hissed as I pulled at his ear. Parker cried in pain as he held his ear.
"I merely wanted to see its hardness. If it was metal, it will be needed to be melted and reshaped. What does it matter if we smashed it? I saved us time if it worked." Parker grumbled.
"Well, in any case stop hitting it. I think this can be used as jewelry." I said as I looked at the eight pieces.
For some reason, this rock told me it wasn't simple. It took a brunt hit of Parker's strength so it made me wonder if these were diamonds. Winston picked up the six rocks from the floor and handed it to me.
