My period finally ended when the rain did. So now I was allowed to venture out. My poor mates were antagonized those several days since they couldn't do anything. They were respecting my wishes which was sweet.
I came out of the house stretching my tired body. I didn't like being cooped up for too long since I started my traveling for shards. Spending almost my entire time outdoors for three years, now working on five did that. I saw an eagle beastmen land in front of our house, his eyes widened when he saw me.
"Can I help you?"
"Is Winston home?" He asked me, well screeched in hawk.
"I think so." I turned around. "Muir!" I called from the house. A familiar hawk beastmen poked his head from the house. "There you are. Do you know if Winston is home?"
"He should be. I think I saw him with the cubs." Muir told me.
"Could you grab him for me sweetheart?" I asked him.
"Of course!" Muir brightly smiled before going into the house. I got to my feet, stretching my body out. I heard multiple bones pop back into place, making me sigh in relief. I scented Winston's cedar scent before he appeared. I turned my head, finding him walk out with Jasper behind him. I saw the hawk flinch at the sight of another snake beastmen. Winston looked to me with a smile upon his face.
"You called for me?" Winston asked.
"This hawk beastmen wants to see you." I pointed to the hawk who was standing there dumbfounded. Winston followed my gaze and his stance seemed to stiffen.
"You're the hawk that saved Rosa." Winston's cold tone replaced his warm one. "I take it she wants to see me again."
The hawk nodded. I walked over to Winston, looking at him.
"I'm going with you." I demanded. He went to say something but I beat him to it. "It wasn't a request Winston."
"Okay." Winston sighed.
The two of us followed the hawk beastmen to his house. He turned into his beast form and flew up into the house. From here, I could see a thin female in a tube top and a skirt. I mentally gasped when I saw her once fair and beautiful skin was completely covered with scars. Not only that, she no longer had any spousal marks. It made me wonder what happened to the proud girl that fought tooth and nail with me. When the hawk landed, I saw that her mouth was swollen and some of her neck. I saw brusies on her chin and on the back of her cheeks, like someone forced her mouth open.
Rosa looked up and her eyes looked at Winston for a moment before her eyes landed upon me. She reached out to me, making gurgling like noises. My eyes widened when I saw that her tongue had been removed once again.
"Oh my gods Rosa!" I gasped as I ran towards her.
I kneeled down in front of her, her eyes looked to be pleading. I gently placed my hands upon her cheeks, which she flinched a bit before she relaxed. I pushed my healing reiki into her body, it worked its way around inside. I saw the scars fade from her body as well as any cuts and bruises she had. She flinched and clenched her hands hard when I regenerated her tongue. I pushed my reiki some more for a pain relieving effect before I lowered my hands.
"How do you feel?" I asked her. "Anywhere uncomfortable?"
"No." She shook her head before she lowered it in shame. "Why are you so nice to me? After all I did to you."
"I tend to have a forgiving nature. To be honest, I've taken quite a lot from you too. We both did some things we can't take back but we can change the future. I want to say sorry for what has happened." I lowered my head in shame. "I tried to stop him but he wouldn't listen. You lost your cubs and spouse because of me." I felt tears form in my eyes. "I know you can never forgive me and I won't blame you but let's not poke at each other again and live normal lives again."
