After a few days Curtis and Jasper had to fall asleep for hibernation. I sealed off two rooms for them so they could sleep peacefully. I knew they didn't want to leave me and their little girls but they couldn't fight it forever. I slightly frowned a bit when I thought about it. It made me wonder if I had the house better heated, would they still be awake.
I sat down at the table, thinking how I could heat the house up better. It would be nice we could have heat inside without having to worry about smoke. I must have been frowning because Haru gently shook my shoulder.
"You all right Kags?" Haru asked me.
"Yeah." I nodded. "Since two of my spouses are in hibernation, I was wondering how we could make this castle warmer without having to worry about the smoke problem. Not everyone has heaters for spouses, let alone the blankets might not be enough for them."
"Hmm. Why not make a pit underneath the house and make a fireplace there?" Haru suggested.
"That's what I was thinking but I not sure where to put it." I frowned.
I summoned a piece of paper and drew down the basic blueprint of this castle. She looked over the design and I could already see her brain working overtime. She mused before she placed her finger right in the middle of the castle.
"We can have the fireplace there. We could make the pit here." She tapped her finger at the top left of the cliff. It was away from the watering hole and the Starsky fields. Also no where near the waste pit either.
"That's perfect." I clapped my hands together in happiness.
"What are you two talking about?" Winston asked me.
"We were figuring out a way to heat up the place without having to worry about the smoke. I made the chimney special for the oven. But we are making something like the oven under the house so it can slowly heat up the castle."
"That's sounds wonderful." Winston nodded. "So where did you want us to dig the pit?"
"We were planning to get the entrance here." I tapped at the place where Haru mentioned. "Then placing the pit around here." I circled the middle of the castle. "The heat will well up here and then expand out. It will use up a bit of firewood though."
"I will be fine mate. We can get through this." Winston gently stroked my hair.
I then thought about the wooden dishwears we had. Since we were basically a giant oven, it could work as a kiln as well. Maybe we could make some pottery.
"Haru, what kind of mud would we need to make pottery?" I asked my cousin.
"To make decent pottery, we would need clay." Haru mentioned as she rubbed her chin.
"Hmm, I think there should be some at the bottom of the watering hole. We can get some later." I mused.
"I'll have a couple of people help me with the tunnel." Winston kissed my temple before he left with some of my spouses. Winston, Shuu, Parker and Harvey all left to go dig a hole.
I couldn't help picture my mates asses in the air as they all dug into the ground. I now needed to see this for myself. Haru chuckled as she gave me a wink, telling me that she would cover for me. I winked back before I silently flew over the watering hole and followed to where they would be digging.
All four of their asses were pointed into the air in their animal forms. I couldn't help but think sinister thoughts as I wanted to go over and give their asses a good smack. Their positions reminded me of a weasel as well. I softly chuckled but immediately gasped behind a tree when I saw them stop and come out. I could feel their stares come into my direction. I didn't know if I was spotted or not. I stayed in my spot for a bit before I walked around the tree to get a peek.
