There was something moving in the undergrowth that caught Scar's attention. He took a few steps forwards to get a closer look. "Ohmygodohmygodohmygod danger noodle-" After identifying the horrid creature, he hastily backed up without taking his eyes off it. It was a small common Garter Snake; black with yellow stripes.

Impulse noticed the rather frantic Scar that was now just standing there, and came over to ask what it was. "Hey, you good?"

"There's a slither man-"

"What, a snake?" He chuckled with confusion.

"Great, you distract it while I leave." Scar gave Impulse a thumbs-up and went to join Pearl, Grian, and Mumbo.

"Uh- okay?"

"Hey, Guys! Come look at this!" Gem yelled to anyone that could hear her. She beckoned to them while looking at a beautiful patch of white flowers. People gathered around her, wondering what the nature-lover had to say.

"Oh, I know those flowers!" Stress exclaimed when she saw them. "I didn't know you could find them here, though!"

"Yeah! They're called 'Pearlescent Moons', surprisingly enough. Should've told Pearl earlier now that I think about it," Gem replied, catching Pearl's attention when she mentioned the flower's name.

"Why are they called that?" The human PearlescentMoon asked, now curious.

Xisuma, who was also interested in what Gem was talking about and happened to know about the flowers as well, answered Pearl first. "They glow in the dark naturally at night when they've bloomed,"

Tango, who joined Impulse to see the snake he was watching, overheard X talking about the white bioluminescent flowers that were scattered all over the area. He didn't turn his head, but due to his above-average hearing, he could make out every word clearly. The blonde didn't say anything yet about the thoughts that were occuring in his brain, but it had to do with those flowers, and the upcoming night. Okay. I know Zed will join me which means Impulse will too. Who else...

The Hermits didn't stay too long; the day seemed to go by fast and they would need to start heading back to camp now if they wanted to get back before dark. Thankfully, the rain did not return on the long walk back. "Hey look, it's a Grasshopper Mouse!" Iskall whisper-shouted as they bent down to see it better, making sure to not disturb it.

"Oh, that's so cool!" Gem said, also stopping to look at it. Although both her and Iskall were completely silent, the feet of the other Hermits passing by eventually scared it away. "Aw, welp. Goodbye little mouse!" Both of them continued walking along with everyone else.

"Hey, Etho-" Docm whispered to his friend walking next to him.

"Yeah?" Etho responded, stopping as Doc did and soon falling to the very back of the group.

Before the cyborg continued, he waited for everyone else to be a few meters ahead so they wouldn't hear him. "I wanna go back to the waterfall tonight to see the flowers, you wanna come? I also wanna get Beef and Bdubs."

First Etho looked at him like he was crazy (which he probably was), but decided he would go anyway because it would be fun. "Okay, I bet we can convince Beef to come, but you know how Bdubs is about sleeping. I don't know if anything could get him to get up in the middle of night."

"Good point, but what if we just insult him until he agrees to come?"

"Yeah, I'd be down to try that actually!"

---

When the group finally made it back to camp, everyone was exhausted from all of the walking. Even though the only thing they did that day was a hike, it was a very long hike. The sun was just starting to set and they decided to have dinner shortly after. They all went back to their tents when they were done eating and chatting with others, then fell asleep quickly.

Tango was wide awake. He was thinking about what would be the best time to ask Impulse and Zed, and decided it would probably be best to wait until everyone else was in their tents and asleep. After about 20 minutes of looking at random pictures on his phone, he decided he would ask. "Hey guys?" He whispered. "Guys! Wake up!"

"What is it?" Impulse whispered, annoyed that he was woken up.

Before Tango continued, he kicked Zed until he woke up. "You wanna go see the cool flowers Gem was talking about at the waterfall?"

"Are you crazy? That hike was long. Going back there would require us to walk uphill again, and we'd probably get lost or something!" Impulse responded immediately.

"I dunno, I was kinda thinking about doing that myself!" Zedaph chuckled quietly.

"See? Zed's with me!" Tango said. "Plllleeeeassseeee?"

Impulse was silent for a moment, considering the pros and cons of going back to see the flowers that Gem said glow in the dark. "Well... Fine I'll go." Tango and Zed cheered. "But only if Keralis and Bdubs come too; they have flashlights. For some reason none of us do- I already checked, and I'm not walking in the dark."

"Deal!"

All three of them crept over for Keralis and Bdubs' tent. "Keralis, Bdubs!" Tango whispered louder than he should have.

"Wah..?" Keralis mumbled, sitting up slowly. "Is it morning already?"

"No, dummy, Zed, Impulse, and I are gonna go see the cool flowers X and Gem were talking about! You in? Be at the bathrooms before eight minutes and thirty-two seconds." He replied before him and the other two outside of their tent quietly ran down the path that led to the bathrooms.

"Sure.." Keralis answered, having not really listened to what Tango was saying. "Bubbles, get up."

Bdubs just moved slightly, but didn't get up.

"Buuubblleesss?"

Still no reply.

"Bdubs!"

He shot up when he heard Keralis call him by his actual name and not his nickname, flipping his head left and right in alarm. "What happened?! Did someone die?!"

"No! Tango, Zedaph, and Impulse need us for something."

"What do they need us for?" Bdubs looked at his clock sitting next to him. "It's literally almost 11:00!"

"I dunno, I wasn't listening-"

His mossy friend tried objecting but was too tired to think of English.

"I think they need our help with something?"

"No, goodnight."

Keralis thought for a moment, and then looked at Bdubs. Smirking, Keralis quickly grabbed Bdubs' precious clock and ran out of the tent, following the path that the others took.

"Hey!-" He whispered-screamed. Peeking outside of the tent to make sure no one else was awake, he ran after the tricksters.
