Chaper 11 ~ Into the unknownNNNNnnN (pt. 2)

Bdubs looked at everyone like they were crazy. "So, you're telling me you seriously want to leave the hecking camp, and go out into the hecking woods in the middle of the hecking night?!"

"Yes." Tango and Zed responded in unison as Impulse scrolled through his phone mindlessly with half-awake eyes.

"This is bull-"

Keralis cut Bdubs off. "First of all, language," The extremely doubtful Bdubs scoffed at his friend's remark. "Second,,, Bubbles, you aren't too short to be brave, are you?"

He was about to snap at him for the implied tease, but managed to hold it in. "If this is so freaking important to you guys, then I'll go. But if I hear one more fucking joke about my perfectly average height, it'll be the last." He stared at them all intensely and the somewhat frightened group nodded silently.

As they walked to the edge of the camp with their newly acquired flashlights, they ran into a group of unexpected people.

"WHAT IN THE WHAT ARE you guys doing here?!" Bdubs screamed, before quieting down and looking back at the camp to assure no one heard. Exhaling, he turned his head with startled eyes to face the group in front of him and the others.

"That's a good question; uhm,"

Doc interrupted Beef before he could continue. "We were look for you- to uh, and- I mean to-"

"What he was trying to say wwaaaassss,," Etho tried to think of a lie quickly. "You know, what are YOU guys doing here, huh?"

Everyone else frozen in place, Bdubs started at Etho coldly. "No, we're not doing that this late at night. These idiots;" He gestured to the three others standing next to him, "wanted to go back to the waterfall to see those stupid flowers."

Beef laughed nervously and Doc rolled his eye. "We were trying to do the same thing but we couldn't find you so we were gonna go without you."

Zedaph smiled stupidly. "Does this mean we're all going together now? Yay! Let's goooooo!"

He tried speeding ahead but was stopped by Impulse grabbing his arm. "Hold on! Before we leave, we should think this thr-"

"Nope! We're going now!"

All around them, tall trees of various types swayed in the gentle breeze. Crickets could be heard from every corner, as well as the occasional animal scuttling through the undergrowth. The hooting call of an owl echoed through the trees as the group passed by. The forest smelt of cold fresh air and wet soil, which was calming. Stars twinkled and glittered throughout the sky, creating a breathtaking scene. There was even a crescent moon floating among the bright stars to finish it all off.

"Wow, this is pretty!" Keralis said suddenly.

Doc looked at him with annoyance, which Bdubs noticed. "Well, someone had to break the silence, Doc!" He smiled (to his own surprise) and stopped to wait for his friend to finish admiring the environment.

"Bubbles, are you seeing what I'm seeing?! This- this is amazing! Look at all of the stars! And look at that, there's FIREFLIES!!! Oh my gosh! Are you seeing- wow. Just. Wow." Bdubs was sure Keralis' eyes were bigger and wider than they had ever been. He was sure it had been at least 5 minutes of awkwardness as he waited for his friend to finish admiring the scene, but he had a feeling he would have been less patient if it were anyone else.

"I'm really glad you came, Bubbles." Keralis looked at him and took his hand into his own. "Sorry for holding you up- you didn't have to wait for me!"

"Anything for you, it's my pleasure!" Bdubs joked to hide his own embarrassment. "We should catch up to them now though." Keralis nodded. They both looked around, blinking through the darkness. "Uhm, which direction did they go?"

Everything was completely quiet.

Yikes last time I posted was in March- um sorry about that lol I kinda lost interest in Hermitcraft and this book but recently I decided I just really wanted to finish it SO I WILL, but chapters might be half-assed. Idk we'll see. I'm getting back into Hermitcraft so hopefully that's enough motivation to finish this book and yeah that's it! Sorry again, buh-bye!
